The Darkwood Inn (OOC)
The classic intro of "The heroes all meet in a tavern" can be a slow start. Also, some players might be only able to update once a week...if that. I am sort of lucky. I do my 8 hours of work, look if I need to update, then get ready for bed and do it all over again.
Also, each character is different and have their own motivations for adventuring. Two were already friends so they were already traveling together, one happened to be next door and wanted to apologize for the noise, and then the other was desperate enough to join perfect strangers in hopes of going on an adventure for coin.
Larannia has message to deliver to some people. After that, she was going to ask the woman at the bar about any job opportunities. The druid sort of hired the stranger to keep her out of too much trouble while in town.
Now...the DM has lots of ways of forcing the group together. All getting arrested for a crime they did not commit seems to be a very direct way. The other, Un invasive way would be to have a "job board" in the tavern. The players go to the board, pick a job, and then go to the person offering the job. It so happens all the players go the same job. They are told to form a group for the job and *poof* instant adventure.
Larannia already has a quest and managed to drag someone along. That will be a little adventure for the two of them. With the women busy, what trouble can the guys get into or rather, what trouble gets into them! :)
Sometimes, you have to go out and find your own adventure. Or just go ahead and tell the DM hurry and bring the pain. :)
