RTJ: Additional rules
I'm looking forward to seeing your character concepts! Having said that, here are a few pointers for character creation. Try to keep the character fantasy themed. Also, please no murderhobos.
1. Please, stick to the core material. NO Unearthed Arcana allowed, but Critical Role material is allowed. Strixhaven backgrounds are not allowed.
2. Please try to keep your race to the player races. If you REALLY want to play something more spicy, make a good case for it and keep an open mind. For example, a monster character will need to be open to hotfixes to their characters.
3. Starting level is 3. Standard stats are as follows; 17, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8. You get a free feat at level 1. Whenever you take a feat at ASI Levels, you also get the regular ASI. This applies to the free feat at level 1, but not to the variant human feat. Please let me know in PMs which feats you pick.
4. Leveling is milestone based, and HP is either average or rolled. If you choose to roll, you have to stick with it. I will do my best to reward creative choices, both in combat and in RP.
5. Attribute cap is still 20 UNLESS otherwise stated. You will know if this is the case for your character.
6. Somewhat related to the previous point. Character progression remains the same, as does multiclass rules. If you want to take your character in a creative direction, feel free to private message me! I want to do my best to reward "outside-the-box"-thinking, but I may not always be able to accommodate.
7. You get a Common magic item at level 1. Try to make it fit with your character's theme or motivations, but this is not required.
All in all, the keyword here is creative. I would much rather see a novel take on an existing trope than a regular human fighter; although I must confess to a soft spot for both.
