Game mechanics
Stats and skills.
A fresh character starts with the six basic stats and the scores assigned to them.
Over the course of the game players will gain experience, and this experience can be invested in skills.
Skills are not your stats!
Rather, skills are defined by your stats.
Take for example the firearms skill. This is defined by your agility.
Meaning the skill has the same score as the agility stat when game starts.
However, when a character gains experience, you can increase a skill with that experience.
So you could invest an experience point to increase your firearms skill, making it better than your regular agility stat.
Skills are not on this list when we start, because skills are too numerous to count and I could never make an all inclusive list. So we will be just writing them down as we go along and raise them.
So for a starting character, the six stats is all we have.
After a while though, that list can stat to look like this:
Strength 3
- boxing +1
Agility 5
- Firearms smg +1
- Acrobatics +2
Fortitude 4
- running +1
Wisdom 3
- Tactical insight +2
Intellect 4
- HPG analysis +2
- Hacking +1
Presence 5
- Dance +1
When not specified otherwise a skill has the same score as the parent stat.
Your experience will add specific skills allowing you to really personalize your character while your stats proved a baseline.
Skills will grow pretty fast.
Stats can only be increases through actual roleplay. Say you wish to increase your intellect, them you will have to regularly roleplay your character as working on his intellect, or have your character in the gym a lot to increase stregth or fortitude.
When a stat grows, all corresponding skills grow with it.
