The song changed.  And the main lyric was the word "Chosen."

"Guys!," Anna shouted to her party. "I need help!"

The others eventually heard and started pushing their way in, but the dance reached a climax, and--

Something powerful was awake.  And it had touched Anna.  And she could feel it like a snake's tail around her heart.

"What is this? What's going on?" Anna asked.

"...it's been the first time in a century," a villager said.  "You're chosen.  You must go."

"Chosen? By what?" Anna asked.

"The Snake, of course," he said.

"Is-is it safe?" Anna asked. "Are you going to sacrifice me or something?"

"The Snake has called you," the Villager said.  "I'm sorry, but you must go.  There is no choice now."

Anna stopped resisting it.

The crowd parted, showing a pathway into the woods.

The others came hurrying over to her.

"Hey, are you all right?" Artz asked.

"Yes, there's some weird energy calling me," Anna said.

"But do you have to follow it?" Artz asked, clearly worried.

"I don't know, but I don't think it will let me leave," Amara said.

"So we're going with you, obviously," said Krovna.  "Right?"

"Right," Anna said.

"...So which way is it?" said Alana.  She clearly couldn't sense the power.

Anna pointed out which way she was feeling it from.

"...That's an odd hill," said Alana.

"Yeah, don't think that one just happened," said Artz.  "I'll bet somebody built a mound there, a long time ago."

"It's supposed to be some kind of snake spirit," Anna said.

"Snakes, eh?" said Krovna.  "Not going to let it eat you.  We'd better go deal with it..."

"I'm not sure if it is hostile or not, so let's just wait and see," Anna said.

"Either way, we'd better look," said Artz.  They started on their way...
