Game Rules

Posts for all threads will use:

0. Please don't do anything that will force me to boot you.

1. COLORED IC spoken text, like so:
The Announcer called out, "Look There!!! A Hunter Hangar is opening up"
I'm not asking for people to stick to a particular color for their character, but it'd be appreciated. That said, nobody "owns" any particular color.

2. I lied a bit about owning colors. OOC parts of IC posts are to be in ORANGE, and anything that needs GM attention rules-wise (like 1's rolled, possible XP earned, and so on) should include a note in RED. NOBODY gets to use these colors for any other purpose in IC or OOC threads.

3. Dice rolls use RPOL's dice roller, with each individual die recorded.

Rolling: Attack w/ 2 Accuracy from Targeting computer and ally Bolster, 2d6 Energy damage resulting.

11:08, Today: Commissioner rolled 19,7,10 using d20,2d6,2d6, unique dice with rolls of 19,2,5,4,6.  Demonstration Roll. – 19,7,10

If you want to "contract" your roll as I did above, condensing the Accuracy boosts into 2d6, alphabetical order is followed. So the first d6 is from Bolster, the second is the Targeting Computer. This allows me to easily differentiate which die rolled what, in case there are any neato rules interactions.

Also, notice how the modifier is in RED? That way, I can rule on modifiers after the fact, and have all the dice results individually. More, I can add more if I think any were missed.

4. I'm going to require weekly IC posts from all Teams involved in IC events, Races in particular. If it is your turn in Initiative, you have 48 hours to post your turn. I will be checking almost daily & do not want games to stall. If your turn "times out", your mech will take a "default turn", as follows:

Mech will Move and Boost, increasing Init as much as possible, avoiding traps and hazards, and taking as much Cover at the end of their move as possible.

If your Mech is in the lead, your Movement will be converted to Objective progress as allocated by the Commissioner.

5. Multiple players playing on a Team together may share posting responsibilities any way they choose, so long as someone on their team posts at least weekly. If you cannot act or respond for your character, then a teammate may narrate from their own character's perspective.

6. If an entire Team does not make the requisite IC post for a week, they will forfeit any Races or other competitions they are involved in, and may be dropped from the League. Similarly, individual players that do not meet their posting requirements for several weeks may be removed in favor of a free agent who wants to play.

7. Players are encouraged to use the tools at Compcon.app for character/mech building. This campaign is an ongoing West Marches-esque playtest, player death is not necessarily a thing, and rebuilds will likely be freely granted between races/events. These tools will automate a lot of the build rules, and ease sharing of builds (preferably copying the text version of your current build to your character sheet, please and thank you!).

8. As this is an ongoing playtest, whether the current scenario is PvE or PvP, this is intended to be a collaborative environment, GM & players vs. the potentially broken parts of the GM's ruleset. We will work on theorycrafting and rules scenario to scenario, not on each other.

9. Builds must use options in the Core Rulebook and no other sources. In the fullness of time (when the GM has managed to review them), more (even 3rd party) sources may be added as legal build options.
