You all know me because you all GM for me either here or somewhere else! I've sent out 7 inquiries, got 4 yeses, 2 maybes and 1 no response yet. I'm hoping for 6 players, would live with 7 if everyone comes on board.

If it's 4 I might try to open a slot or two to 'friends and family', but we can cross that bridge when we come to it!

I like to give a little introduction about myself, though appreciate and respect if people don't want to share real life information.

I'm an old woman in comparison to most here, 44 and fighting it every step of the way, living in Western Canada where summers are hot (though not now) and winters are COLD!

I play in too many games, usually Pathfinder though also dabble in 'adult free form' (don't judge!) I like playing the strong, beautiful amazon warrior type (which is absolutely in no way wish fulfillment) Expect some NPCs to fit that trope.

Full disclosure, I am sometimes amused by sex in role-playing games, but only if the game is set up for it. This one isn't (hence the mature rating) so I won't be going there. That being said, I am almost always amused by flirting in-character in role-playing games, there might be some of that, followed by a quick kiss and fade to black or another venue if players are interested in pursuing further. No one should EVER feel pressured into engaging in flirty role play, of course!

Hi everyone! Not a ton to say about myself, haha. Big fan of PF1, never played this campaign before. I'm also a fan of Adult games, in fact I didn't know this wasn't going to be one, but I'm good with it XD Like the GM said, I'm up for flirting, fading to black, moving venues, etc. but of course I'm not pressuring anybody.

I tend to play gap fillers in party-based games, so I'll probably wait to see what others want to play before I figure out a character, so long as I'm not holding things up.

"old woman in comparison to most here, 44"

Old?  Talk to me in 20 years.

Hoi Chummers.  Retired USN Vet in Southern California.  Gamer since D&D was essentially on poorly mimeographed pamphlets.  As a sign of how old I am, I know what mimeograph is.

I am male.  I play female characters.  If I was still in therapy, I would probably be told it's because after twice marrying and divorcing the same woman and being left at the alter by another that perhaps I am trying to control when people leave me.  My second D&D character got hit with one of those sex change belts and (because we were stupid and young) the GM said "And you don't want to change back because that's the curse" as if it were a curse on me, and not the character.  It's still one of my favorite characters and I work her into almost every game system.

Anyways.

I disagree that War for the Crown isn't about Sex.  It's totally a game about flirting and sexual innuendo and flagrant disregard for marriage vows.  This is the Three Musketeers as done in the fabulous (and only ones worth watching) movies from the 70s that were directed by Richard Leister.  I'd link it but haven't figured that out here yet.  It could be summed up in why D'artagnon was sleeping with M'Lady (and her maid) and yet still being faithful to his (married to someone else) lover.  "I love M'Lady with my head, and Constance with my heart"  To which Athos replies "It must be nice to have such discerning organs"

I do agree no one should be forced to play into anything that makes them uncomfortable.

While things should very much 'fade to black' for anything intimate, there should be lots of kissing and raunchy innuendo and at least one of us should start the game being chased out of a bedroom by someone's angry father or spouse.

I like games.  I like the writing part.  I keep meaning to start a super hero game but I still haven't worked out a system where the mechanics don't bog things down.

I play skill monkeys.  Mostly Rogues but sometimes Wizard or Clerics with high intelligence and some feat that gives me more skills.  I like Pathfinder Traits for the way it allows me to get more skills as class skills.

"hate the premise of 'mysterious spy lady contacts a group of strangers to help her in politicking a senate gala' that kicks things off."

Was not so fond of that myself.  My variation (when I was considering running this) was to say that everyone had been recruited already.  No longer than 18 months, no fewer than 6 months.  As of yet it has been little more than passing messages or following someone and report back on where they go or who they talk to.  However, she knows you are reliable and now is ready to have you work as a team.

Being former friends sounds very nice.  So many games start out with everyone as strangers.  While I do not mind exposition dumps with character introductions it isn't a need when we all know one another.  And it helps build some camaraderie which is sometimes difficult in Play by Post where you don't know one another like you do when it's friends around a table.

This setting is really good for someone who wanted to try out one of the Vigilante class characters.  But those always look like so much work, I have never been brave enough to try it.

Rpol, unlike MW where I know Merovingia, allows a lot of freedom to write NSFW content (and I've written some myself!)

Games can be set as general, mature or adult. Adult games are pretty open, but there are several red lines. Nothing non consensual, and no one underage. This last rule applies to players but also characters. So as soon as I decided I wanted a prequel with teens, adult was off the table.

If there's a strong preference, I can make a new game after we're done the prequel phase and dealing with (not necessarily mature) adults.

I didn't say the game wasn't about sex! I just need you all to fade the naughty bits to black and take it somewhere else if it goes that way.

I will have more content up later, but still sorting things out.

Does anyone feel strongly about 20 vs. 25 point buy? Seems like 25 is becoming pretty standard and honestly I don't think it'll make much difference. I usually (and likely will here too) put limits on ability scores of no higher than 18 after racial mods, so 25 point just gives more rounded characters who have a better chance at being good at everything I guess.

And Psst, for me this IS therapy!

GM:

I do 25 point buy for my games so that I can completely mess with things.  I tend to do mostly APs these days and most of them have been out long enough that they are familiar.  Having the freedom to throw in 30+ extra zombies in a room that was only supposed to have (I think) nine requires letting the Players start out strong.

At the same time I hate, hate, hate dump stats.  I don't like to call it min-maxing, because everyone optimizes for their own play style.  Just because I prefer to have a lot of little bonuses over one stat with a big one doesn't mean my way is better.

But it really bothers me when someone sells down an attribute in any game and then doesn't play it out.

Re: General OOC

Adult: That would be my preference, but not a strong one, especially if it doesn't fit the vision you were going for :) If the need arises someone can always start a side game. I've done that before and it worked out pretty well.

Stats: I like 25 point buy myself. If we combo it with that racial limitation it could allow for more multiple-attribute type builds, which could be fun. I'm easy though.

What's MW, by the way?

In reply to Merovingia (msg # 5):

Greetings everyone!!  I was actually thinking about the vigilante.

I also usually go with 25 pointbuy myself as well.  Unless I tell them to do some sort of rolling for stats.
