Outpost

After two years of adventures with the Longshot, the ship has returned to Outpost. As you come out of jumpspace, a Halsey Keats class Heavy Cruiser on patrol duty is waiting as the sensors started to sound the alarm as weapons lock on due to the sudden arrival. At 60kton, the ship is a hundred times as large as the Longshot.  The crew runs a scan of the ship and once cleared, you head to the system. The idea of a ship that large waiting is rather unusual as a fight of fighters and a SDB is what you are more use to seeing at Garrison.

A broadcast comes over the communication controls as the ship enters orbit. "+++Greetings Flagship. Administrator Huxlia extends a welcome and requests your presence at his office, Captain Vonon and Admin Officer Kaagira as soon as you can get here.+++" the voice said.

Outpost

Once the initial excitement from the alarms settles down a bit, the cause for them has Nathaniel (other ship duties permitting) pouring over the most recent information from and about Imperium activies, as well as changes to the political and military stances in the Grendal group and surrounding spaces. Doing the analysis, he speculates to Vonon in passing "I wonder if the Imperium has decided to officially disapprove of the High Justice's plans to prevent Ildrissar from leaving the fold? Maybe Drellesaar's diplomatic alternative is to invite the Imperium to the table to balance the Assembly. I haven't seen enough reports of piracy to warrant this level of force to protect Imperium assets in the area.". Then a bit frustratedly, "I need more data.".

As soon as the range is reasonable, he sends a query requesting a dump of recent news and changes from Outpost's information net, muttering, to Indie at comms, "If this is blocked or censored, that is information too.". He takes note of the apparent urgency to meet with the ship brass, which serves to drive his curiosity higher about the change in posture.

Outpost

Sharik was at the astrogation station when jump transition occurred.  She'd been in the spot for a few hours, in anticipation of the event - as was her usual routine as the Longshot's primary astrogator.  The habit had been drummed into her during her Imperial service time and had served her well over the past few decades.

She was in tailored vacc suit, the helmet and gloves not fully deployed though easily accessible from her station.  The five-point harness on seat was snug and secure around her torso.  Shar'd pushed timer up to the main bridge display, but kept all of the external sensor feeds off until after the transition - it was both bad luck and bad for the sensors to be registering during the actual transition flash.

Everything seemed relatively routine coming out of j-Space.  Except for the large armed welcome.  But Sharik took it in stride, concentrating on ensuring that the field of stars was correctly array and situated as expected.  Happy with their arrival and satisfied that they were at their desired destination, Sharik turned to incoming message.

She pushed the external sensor feeds to the thumbnails around the main display of the system and wireframe schematic overlay for their route to Outpost Highport.  Her finger flew over the dynamic holographic display on console to iteratively refine the path and its time - trusting Serge to implement it.  She also pushed the estimated time for the route up the main display.  With the estimated time up, she let Indy (at the Comms station) know, "Thank Administrator Huxlia for the hospitality.  We'll be there forthwith." adding after a pause, "Once we are on station in a few hours, of course."

Though she'd cast a glance in Nat's direction and was obviously listening to his musings, Sharik didn't say or contribute anything.  Given the speculation, she felt it best to keep her mouth shut for now.  As Administrative Officer, she wasn't about to contribute or give credence to any rumors.  Of course, such information was of interest; so, she smile slight at any discussion it generated, but she'd simply wait for the data dumps.

Sharik released the buckle on her harness and stood to stretch for a moment.  Glancing over towards the Captain's seat, she prompted Vonon, "A little time before we hit the Highport.  But it sounds like we have a date ..."  She looked to see if Vo wanted to talk first, before heading off to the fresher and such.
