Life on Akir is hard work, but it’s peaceful and predictable, which is just how the colony council likes it. But after three cycles of drought and crashing prices for hemp and quinwheat on the galactic markets, the colony is on the verge of economic collapse. The banks smell blood in the water and are circling like sharks.

There is only one hope, the lost credits of the Akira Corsairs.

The Inferno Nebula. A lost Akira Corsair ship, rumoured to hold over a thousand credits. More than enough to pay off the bank and buy back the colony for the farmers. Trouble is, no one knows where the Nebula went…

GM does calculations, dice rolls and action resolution stuff - dice are rolled, but players don’t roll dice.

But, there are no secrets, I’m using Offworlders, Powered by the Apocalypse (PbtA).  Players describe the actions and likely reactions in a given situation, then I let you know how things have turned out, usually giving a few options if things don’t go your way and you need to take a complication.

This keeps things pretty simple and avoids a slog through slow dice heavy mechanics.

To join the game, give me an RTJ that, includes:

A statement that you have reached the age in our region of residence to be consider an adult and are comfortable with a game that includes mature situations and themes. (Yeah, I know it’s handled through the admins but I like to get a sense of age, and hopefully maturity, of the players)

A character name

What playbook you want to play (Geek, Psychic, Warrior, Outlaw).

A short description, no more than two or three lines that describe your character (eg. A hotshot college football player who suffered a career ending injury and is stuck on the family moisture farm. / A small town girl who graduated top of her class but doesn’t have the credits to travel to Hephaestus Station for university.)

Here is some other stuff that I’d love to know about your character:

-Where and when was your character born?
-Where is your family?
-What was your lifestyle like growing up?
-What ties you to the colony?
-What do you know about the Corsairs, the tyrannical warlord Sador, or the Malmori Empire?
-Who are your friends?
-What are your plans?
-Describe your character's appearance.
-Where do they relax?
-Where do they party?
-What kind of music do the character listen to?

What I really don’t need is a fully completed playbook. Stay focussed on the idea behind the character. I’ve found that in these play-by-post PbtA games, the numbers don’t matter all that much.
