Amaterasu System

A bucolic temperate independent world with widespread democratic governance where power is highly devolved and major issues are resolved through planetary referendum.  Unfortunately the Amaterasu system sits in the spinward edge of the Malmori Empire. Constantly threatened with the empire’s imperialist expansionism, the colony maintains good trade relations with the UDW and produces outstanding crops, including the highly valued Akir coffee bean.

Orbiting Akir is a private space station, nominally aligned with the UDW. Hephaestus station serves as trading outpost, refuelling centre and houses the system’s preeminent scientific academy.

Psi Corps

Psi Corps is a UDW organization ostensibly established to help psychics learn how to control and use their abilities for the betterment of themselves and society at large. Established more than four decades ago after passage of the Metasensory Regulation Act which instituted many of the programs and policies that would later become synonymous with Psi Corps. A series of amendments to the MRA would eventually delineate the consequences governing telepathic invasions of privacy, as well as telekinetic assaults. Rogue psychics have formed a resistance movement opposed to what they see as Psi Corps and 'mundane' oppression.

The Malmori Empire Auditors

The dreaded auditors are the psychic secret police of the Empire. Led by the Mother Auditor of the Imperium, these figures in dark suits wearing reflective masks covering their faces, are feared throughout the empire and beyond. They maintain order on distant worlds of the Empire through fear and manipulation. Eliminating political dissidents, hunting deserters and ensuring compliance with Imperial edicts, the auditors can reach into your mind, probe the depths of your very being, make you say things you don't believe and worse, believe the things that they make you say.
