Vaelon walked into the Endless Mug, his frame eclipsing the light behind him as he paused in the doorway for the briefest of moments to take in the room. His deep eyes scanned the inn, noting its strangeness, but his expression merely changed. He moved to the bar to get himself an ale.

Frothing mug in hand, Vaelon tipped the barkeep generously before finding himself a seat.

After entering the inn, Mudahn attempted to avoid attention, by covering his face with his hood. He hoped that mysterious hooded figures were enough of a trope for people to dismiss him on sight, rather than incite curiosity. The alternative was to reveal his scarred face, and the fact that he was a githzerai, which would likely be worse in comparison, so he didn't have much of a choice anyway.

Moving to the front, he subtly casted Message to give the bartender his order, unwilling to shout it out to make himself heard over the busy bar.

Inn of the Endless Mug (IC)

Mara steps into the Inn of the Endless Mug, her slender frame illuminated by the warm, flickering glow of the establishment. Her mutlicolored gaze sweeps across the crowded room, taking in the myriad expressions as unique as the patrons themselves. Eyes momentarily lock onto the imposing red dragon, bellowing laughter from its corner. With a faint, wry smile, she can't help but wonder what kind of wagers are being made in the company of such an intimidating host.

Mara doesn't shy away from the appraising gazes of the Inn's patrons. As she makes her way to the bar, her movements exude an unique blend of wonder and determination. She settles onto a stool, glancing at the bartender with a curious look, before quietly ordering. As the bartender sets her cider and cup of nuts before her, Mara offers a faint smile in thanks, as she begins to snack. Settling comfortably on her stool, taking a sip of her drink, she turns her attention back to the other patrons.

After a mere few seconds, Mara can't resist the tantalizing air of curiosity that wraps around her like a shroud. She hops off her bar stool with a bounce in her step, weaving through the sea of patrons toward the corner where the red dragon holds court, and she approaches with an air of interest, far too curious for her own good.

With a warm smile she addresses the dragon, her voice clear and bright, "Greetings, friends. I couldn't help but be drawn to the merriment and the wagers. What intriguing games of chance are afoot, if you'd be so kind as to share?" Her dark blue and gray eyes sparkle with a genuine interest, as her tone carries a touch of old-world charm, as if Mara's words have been plucked from a time long past and brought into the present, creating a sense of refinement and elegance in her speech that is contrasted with her open and somewhat bubbly body language.

Inn of the Endless Mug (IC)

Tao stepped through the portal and found himself being ushered toward a bustling tavern called the Inn of the Endless Mug, its wooden doors creaking as patrons entered and exited. The air was thick with the scent of ale and the murmur of conversation.

As he entered, Tao's eyes widened at the sight before him. The tavern was filled with creatures from all walks of life.  His gaze swept across the room, taking in the diverse crowd.

In the corner, a large red dragon held court, its scales shimmering in the dim light. The dragon roared with laughter, taking wagers from onlookers as new people entered the establishment. Tao couldn't help but feel a mix of awe and caution at the sight of such a majestic creature.

Near the door, a giant minotaur sat peacefully at a table, calmly sipping from a tankard of ale. Every so often, the minotaur would speak, and Tao noticed a medium-sized wolf sitting on a chair nearby. The wolf's head cocked in response to the minotaur's laughter, displaying an intelligence not typically associated with beasts of the wild. Tao couldn't help but be intrigued by the unlikely companionship between the minotaur and the wolf.

As Tao made his way further into the tavern, he noticed that all eyes were on him. The patrons seemed to judge him, their gazes appraising his worthiness. Some took interest, their curious stares lingering for a moment longer, while others quickly dismissed him as just another passerby.

Despite the scrutiny it seemed that he was viewed as just another newcomer in this vibrant tapestry of beings from different realms. The tavern staff, resembling perfectly sculpted statues, moved gracefully among the patrons, attending to their needs. They brought food and drink, cleaned tables, and swept the floors with an efficiency that kept the Inn running smoothly.

Tao found an empty table and took a seat, his spirit companion — a raven perched on his shoulder — watching the scene with keen eyes. He took a deep breath, feeling a sense of anticipation and adventure welling up within him. This new world held both wonders and challenges, and Tao was ready to embrace them all in service to his patron, the Raven Queen.

As Tao settled into his seat, he couldn't help but let his gaze wander, taking in the finer details of the Inn of the Endless Mug. The tavern was adorned with various trinkets and decorations from different realms, giving it an eclectic and otherworldly ambiance. The walls were adorned with tapestries depicting legendary battles and mythical creatures, capturing the imagination of those who beheld them.

The atmosphere inside the inn was charged with energy. Conversations filled the air, blending together in a symphony of voices. Some patrons engaged in heated debates about distant lands and epic quests, their words punctuated by gestures and the occasional roar of laughter. Others leaned in close, their heads huddled together in whispered conversations, their eyes darting around as if guarding secrets.

As Tao observed the diverse crowd, he noticed that despite their differences, there seemed to exist a sense of camaraderie that bound them together. Could it be that the tavern served as a haven for travelers and adventurers, a place where stories were shared, alliances formed, and destinies intertwined.

With a newfound sense of belonging, Tao summoned a server and ordered a drink, allowing himself to immerse in the vibrant atmosphere of the Inn of the Endless Mug. He felt that within these walls, he would find allies, forge new paths, and continue his journey as both a warlock and cleric, faithful to the Raven Queen and ready to face the challenges that awaited him in this strange and captivating world.

Fae moved into the Inn of the Endless Mug between the legs of one of the larger patrons, she was gone before he could raise a fuss. Looking around her eyes were drawn to the dragon who was holding court in the corner. Where else would she have an opportunity to see such a thing?

"Excuse me, would you mind if I pulled up a chair and absorbed some of your wisdom? I have never seen a dragon before."

Inn of the Endless Mug (IC)

Vaelon approaches the bar, ordering ale from one of the alabaster bartenders. The animate being returns quickly with a very large mug of ale. As you hand over your gold coin, it pauses a moment, before accepting. A brisk nod before you are given a small, irregular crystal, black and blue in color, in return. You move away, taking a seat not too far from any point in the room.

A few people take note of the cloak figure of Mudahn, looking slightly interested in what may be underneath the hood, so to speak. As you sit quietly, more than one or two take a moment to appraise you in earnest. The arrival of food and drink within a few minutes dim the interest of others slightly, though others remain to partially keep their eye on you.

Mara draws interest as she enters, but it soon wanes as she orders cider. As she gets up and moves about the room, making her way to the red dragon, a few of the people around him begin to watch as she approaches, smirks beginning to appear on their faces as you near.

Tao's interest held many eyes, taking in his unique form and the raven on his shoulder. As he makes his way to an empty table, he passes by the minotaur and wolf, who both turn in their private conversation to give him him an appraised once over. The server swiftly arrives, taking Tao's order before leaving, and then returning with his order. The room is quite different from many others you have encountered, must more focused on this apparent Endless Dungeon and the mysterious God who created it.

Fae's entrance is nearly missed by many of the patrons, being so small in stature. As she winds between people and tables to the dragon holding court, few notice her until she walks up and begins speaking with the chromatic dragon.

The large dragon stops his conversation as Mara and Fae approach, the smell of brimstone filling the air as it snorts at your questions. "Well, dark treat, we are discussing how long each person shall survive in the Dungeon. Each day brings fresh blood and the chance for Experion to be earned on whether they will survive the first level, or if their Soulstone Amulet will be brought back by their companions. As for you, little one, behold my glory, but wisdom has a price. If you survive the first level of the dungeon, you may be able to purchase it with Experion." The dragon spoke, it's voice a deep grumble.

Overhearing the dragon, Mudahn grabs his drink and wanders over, curious about the betting system that seemed to have organically formed itself around the Dungeon. When Mudahn speaks, his voice is coarse, as if he was speaking for the first time. It had a faint hit of an alien accent, but all things considered his grasp on common was fairly good.

"Are bets upon one's own survival allowed? Paying up front, presumably?"

Amidst the lively chatter and clinking of mugs in the Inn of the Endless Mug, a figure quietly slipped through the doorway. Seraphina Blackthorn, her purplish-red hair flowing like twilight, moved with a subtle grace, her pearl white eyes taking in the eclectic mix of patrons.

With a serene smile full of warmth, she approached the bar "A cider, if you please," she said to the bartender, her voice as gentle as a sigh of wind through ancient trees.

As she waited for her drink, her eyes wandered, capturing the tales etched in the faces of the adventurers around her. Seraphina's gaze met the eyes of her fellow travelers, a silent acknowledgment of shared purpose. When her cider arrived, she took a sip, savoring the moment.

Turning toward the dragon in the corner, she listed with a quiet curiosity. With a nod to the dragon and a friendly glance at the individuals beginning to surround it, Seraphina settled into the rhythm of the inn, embracing the potential for camaraderie and the adventure that lay ahead.

Inn of the Endless Mug (IC)

Tao settled into his seat, his curiosity piqued as he eavesdropped on conversations about the Endless Dungeon. As he listened intently, he couldn't shake a strange feeling of familiarity. Looking around the tavern, a sense of déjà vu washed over him. It was as if he had seen this place before, but in a different context.

Memories of a dream flickered in his mind, fragments of a vision that seemed to align with the scene before him. In that dream, he had found himself on a distant desert planet, surrounded by a lively gathering of beings from various walks of life. Instead of an inn, it had been a bustling cantina in Mos Eisley, a place of exotic encounters and hidden agendas.

Tao couldn't help but ponder the similarities and differences between his dream and the present reality. In the dream, the conversations had been filled with talk of smugglers, intergalactic politics, and strange alien species. The air was heavy with an otherworldly energy, and the mood was charged with a sense of adventure and danger.

Yet, here in the tavern, the focus was on the Endless Dungeon and the enigmatic God who had created it. The atmosphere felt distinct, more grounded in a realm of fantasy and mystery. The patrons spoke of treacherous depths, mythical creatures, and the promise of untold treasures hidden within the dungeon's labyrinthine corridors.

Tao couldn't help but marvel at the intricacies of the mind, how it weaves together fragments of memory and imagination to create vivid dreams and mental associations. Perhaps this convergence of his dream and reality was a testament to the power of the subconscious, a reminder that the boundaries between the realms of dreams and waking life could sometimes blur.

With a shake of his head, Tao brought himself back to the present moment. He realized that dwelling on the dream wouldn't bring him closer to the truth of the Endless Dungeon or the mysteries it held. Instead, he focused his attention on the conversations around him, determined to gather information and insights that would aid him in his own journey through the labyrinthine depths.

Dream or not, the tales spun within these walls held a certain allure, and Tao was eager to uncover the secrets that lay within the Endless Dungeon, regardless of the origin of his inspiration.

As Mara reaches the dragon, she observes another figure weaving through the crowd and heading the same direction. As Fae joins the conversation, Mara steps back slightly, her presence observant yet unassuming. She watches the interaction between the diminutive newcomer and the colossal dragon, appreciating the stark contrast in their statures. She awaits her turn to speak, a patient and polite smile gracing her lips as she absorbs the intriguing information. Mentions of wisdom having a price, Mara raises an intrigued eyebrow, her eyes flickering with a subtle mix of calculation and determination.

When Fae expresses her awe at the dragon's presence, Mara adds, "Indeed, a rare opportunity to witness the majesty of a dragon, and in such esteemed company who I assume have already traversed the Endless Dungeon. Therefore, your wisdom, noble dragon, is a commodity worth pursuing, and I am intrigued by the prospect of acquiring it through the challenges that lie ahead."

Mara inclines her head respectfully in response to the dragon's words, before taking a sip of cider and continuing to speak. "As I, too, seek to challenge the Dungeon's depths, I would appreciate a glimpse into your deliberations. Pray, what is the general consensus on my chances of survival, as perceived by those who have trod these perilous paths before me?" Her inquiry is delivered with a mix of genuine curiosity and a subtle challenge, as if she's ready to defy any skepticism that might linger in the air.

The smirks around the dragon's court do not go unnoticed by Mara. Her eyes survey the onlookers with an unreadable expression, silently inviting them to underestimate her at their own peril. In the midst of this, the arrival of a larger man approaching the smaller woman, draws a measure of Mara's attention. Observing the interaction with a quiet interest,  as the man seemed to be a new arrival as well.

The red dragon sniffs the air around Mudahn, chortling slightly. "Bet against yourself, you might have better odds. Now, if you go in with a group, that would provide for better odds. The Master of Bets does not like to encourage suicide." The dragon spoke, picking at one of its claws with the other claw, resting on its elbow.

Seraphina listens intently, sipping her cider as the flow of patrons ebbs and flows. A tall, one-eyed white Leonin enters before walking into a back room, one or two people parting to get out of their way.

Tao sits as an island in a sea of words, absorbing what he can through his passive listening.

The dragon turns as Vaelon speaks up to offer to be the object of their bets. "Perhaps, this one would prove useful, as a physical barrier against other foes if the little one is skilled at ranged attacks."

Examining the dark woman, the dragon grumbles a little. "I would say that you have talent, perhaps you would survive with a large enough group. Let this be the only wisdom that I give freely, travel with others." It spoke, growing steadily more annoyed at being pestered by lesser beings. The dragon shifts its posture, getting up and begins to shift into the form of a red dragonborn, walking out of the tavern.

Having absorbed valuable information from the surrounding conversations, Tao's determination to embark into the Endless Dungeon grew stronger. He observed a small group forming at a nearby table, their voices filled with anticipation and purpose. Intrigued by their energy, Tao felt compelled to approach and offer his assistance.

With measured steps, Tao made his way toward the group, his tortle form drawing curious glances from those he passed. As he reached their table, his raven companion perched on his shoulder, he spoke up with a friendly smile "Greetings, fellow seekers of the Endless Dungeon. I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. If you are in need of an additional companion, I would be honored to join your ranks."

Tao thought he could sense a mix of curiosity and cautious consideration in their gazes. He continued, his voice steady and earnest, "From what I've gathered, the first level of the dungeon presents ever-changing environments, making it a challenge for solo adventurers. I understand the importance of working together, and my own experiences have taught me the value of teamwork."

Tao paused, allowing his words to sink in before he continued, "I may not possess the strength of a red dragon or the telepathic abilities of the wolf, but I bring my own unique skills to the table. With my resourcefulness, honed powers of observation, and the ability to support and heal, I believe I can be an asset to our group. Together, we can navigate the unpredictable depths of the dungeon and emerge victorious."

"None of you are getting out alive," said a voice that sounded from behind the gathering crowd, "without help that is."  Sitting at a nearby table, whose contents were only an empty mug, and a small stringed instrument that the elf was pining over was a lithe fair skinned creature with Elf-like features.  There was a definitive air of jest in his voice as he spoke, "Lucky for you I was preparing to head that direction myself."  He raised a hand before he continued, "No need to beg, I will gladly add my skills and areas of expertise to your travelling party...as long as the financial terms are agreeable?"  He never looked up once while speaking to the gathering crowd, instead continued to focus his attention to the delicate intricacies of fine tuning the odd instrument on the table.

He was dressed in immaculate traveling clothes, and his long auburn hair was so fair that anyone who walked by rustled it with the motion of their body.  A small travelling backpack with a bedroll protruding out of the top of it sat beside his chair.

Mara listens attentively as the dragon bestows his advice, his grumbling tone hinting at a growing annoyance. The suggestion of joining forces with others doesn't seem to perturb her; instead, she takes it in stride, acknowledging the wisdom in the dragon's words. There's a glint in her eyes, an acknowledgement of the challenge ahead, and a silent determination brewing within her.

Mara stands calmly, taking in the various offers and remarks from Mudahn, Vaelon, Tao, Fae, and the mysterious elf. As they each speak, expressing their desire to join forces for the impending challenge of the Endless Dungeon, Mara maintains her poised demeanor, her eyes assessing each individual in turn.

Once the last voice fades, Mara addresses them collectively with a refined tone that echoes through the tavern, carrying an air of confidence and composure, "I am Nimáranwiel Feredir’ôlos, though many call me Mara. Your insights and offers do not fall on deaf ears, esteemed companions-to-be. I appreciate the wisdom shared and the willingness to form an alliance for this perilous journey."

Her gaze sweeps across the gathered individuals, acknowledging their strengths and their eagerness to embark on this quest. "It is apparent that our endeavors require not only skill but also unity. As the dragon suggested, a collective effort might indeed tip the scales in our favor."

Mara remains composed and thoughtful, taking in each person's offer and assessing the potential strengths they might bring to a group venture into the Endless Dungeon. Her response carries a poised certainty, hinting at her readiness to embark on this perilous journey with the newly formed band of adventurers.
