Misty Archipelago

Orlov circled around the archipelago, but it seemed that the strange, mist-covered archipelago was too much for his navigation skills and he had trouble getting the ship to its destination.

Consequences:

Wasted Days:

You wasted several days looking for the sanctum. This would also result in your crew losing 1 Coin from their total amount.

If you resist this, you only wasted several hours and no Coin loss.

Resisted with Resolve.

Danger:

Your ship ran into some kind of danger, due to the nature of these hidden islands, probably one of the occult variety.

If you resist this, then you can avoid it entirely.

Resisted with Insight.

If you resisted the Danger, then you can immediately try to roll Navigation again, this time, the position would be Controlled, since you already mapped out a large portion of the archipelago.

Keep in mind that eventually you are gonna find that place automatically, it's just a question of how quickly and what it entails along the way.

Take one stress

Sean set about arranging the things that Orlov needed in an organized way. He lay out instruments, maps, cups of wine, and small meals all within in reach of his chair. He lay a large magnifying glass directly in front of the chair along with a compass. He put cushions on the chair, and finally made sure the room was brightly light with oil lanterns.

Only thing I can really think of is to literally make him comfortable

I'll resist the danger.

I rolled a 6, does that mean I relieve 1 stress? Or do I need to roll two 6s?

Can I roll attune instead of navigate? I'm thinking of sending the birds out to sense magic, seeing as they get potency for observing the supernatural.

08:06, Today: Orlov rolled 10 using 3d6 with rolls of 3,1,6.  resist insight. –

Sure, you can Attune instead. The Position would be Risky, but the Effect would be Great, so if you pulled it off, you'd get more out of it than from a Navigate roll.

And that Assist description is ok.

Misty Archipelago

Orlov looked surprised when Sean suddenly began helping out in the chart room. "No, I don't need help here. All this stuff is useless in this fog."

"What I need you to do is watch that bird. Keep pointing to it. Don't lose sight of it."

Going up on deck, Orlov climbed onto the poop deck, disturbing the boobies who took off in a slow wallowing flght above the water. "Finn, take the helm! Sailors! Keep a sharp weather lookout for anything: rocks, reefs, floating logs, ships, mermaids, other dangerous things!"

The weather-witch strode and danced about the roof, feet thumping down in the rhythm of a Sallician waltz, wailing voice rising and falling like the wind that moaned through the yards.

Presently a bird returned, swooped and turned, and took up a position some thirty yards off the starboard bow, flapping heavily in a Nor-West direction. It's white plumage appeared and disappeared, slipping through the fog like a ghost.

"Finn! Follow that bird!"

09:20, Today: Orlov rolled 9 using 3d6 with rolls of 2,6,1.  attune.
