Requesting Access to the Game [READ FIRST]

CHARITABLE READING
Communication is difficult. Communication is especially difficult via a text only medium. Everyone in this game is playing to have fun.

We need to give every players in character and out of character posts a charitable reading.

If you find another player's post makes you agnry or sad - please pause for a moment. Then re-read the post and imagine whatever the player posted was intended in the best possible light.

Assume the post was NOT intended to anger or insult. Assume the post was made with the best of intentions.

Then, if you still feel some corrective action needs to be taken, send me, the GM, a private message FIRST, before posting anything publicaly. I will discuss the situation with you via private message.

If you must post publically in response to a post that is angering - please consider posting clarifying questions to get at the original poster's actual intent.
DO THE FOLLOWING WHEN REQUESTING ACCESS TO THE GAME
When you request access, please do the following:
  • Explicitly state you are 18 years of age or older
  • Explicitly state that you have read, understand and agree to RolePlay Online's Mature game policy
  • Explicitly state you understand, and will abide by, a "charitable reading" policy for your fellow players' posts
I've been playing tabletop roleplaying games for close to 40 years now. I've run dozens and dozens of games, mostly face to face. In the past 10 years or so, most of my roleplaying games have been conducted via video, live text, or asynchronous (e.g. play by post) play. I have yet to succesfully run a game on this site (and here, by success, I mean run through a complete 'adventure' or 'story').

Here are my statements:
I am approaching 60 years of age.

I have read and I understand Roleplay Online's Mature game policy

I understand and will abide by a charitable reading policy for everyone's contributions to the game.
