Yeah, I never introduced myself here, but I joined a couple weeks back. I believe I'm Maranwe #29, right?

Orken Badaxe:
I think I am the second Orkin. Kinda depresss me. I can't even get a player into my little game after all that work yet. Got me looking under the rugs to see what I missed or messed... :o(

Every time I see a game advertised in this thread I agonise about wheather I can commit more time and RTJ. I know the games will be good as the role players here are all good.

Then I think about how much time I can put into my own games and when they have slowed up due to my RL issues or too busy reading OOTs.

So the short answer Orken is that I'd love to join but don't feel I can make the commitment at this time. Likewise everyone else that has advertised in the past.

mind you two OOCs in one day...

Hello new players, whatever numbers you are...

I'm the first Ildrulf... still have my manufacturer's warranty and original packaging and everything.  Possibly because nobody else would want to play me...

Maybe it's me, but it's the elves I tend to have trouble keeping.  In all my games, I believe only one has its original elf, and the rest keep getting replaced (and then have to have their replacements replaced and so on).

Are they just bad juju?

Perhaps that is the true secret of the elvish long lifespan - they just keep getting replaced when they start to wear out, Doctor Who style.

Hey, I resemble that remark!

I'm a #1 as well. I think it's because I'm so awesome nobody thought they could possibly replace me. Really.

Still, we keep trying to get you replaced. grin

Hmm...I started as a replacement, and then traded up for an original, mint-condition, still-in-the-box, with Real Action Sounds and The Lock You Can Pick Yourself.  It was very exciting.

Hehe...Sedusa was probably one of the smartest villains the Powerpuff Girls have, really.  I wish they'd use her more.  I guess she might edge into some more 'grown-up' themes, though.

Much better than the She-Ra characters. sigh  I was recently reminded of "Castaspella", and "Perfuma"...shudder

But did you idloize her when you were little? :o)

Was Perfuma a throw in to please mom's that had grown up during the 60's and watched TV with the kids? You know? Flower power? ;o)

Reading the character descriptions over at Wikipedia for the He-Man and She-Ra shows, I am left laughing pretty hard. It all sounded so cool when I was little but it's so over the top now.

Re: { Out of Character Chat }
It all feels so cynical now.  I can't disagree with the Wikipedia description;

Wikipedia:
She-Ra is a fictional character and the heroic female lead in the series of toys produced by Mattel called She-Ra: Princess of Power. She also appears in the tie-in cartoon of the same name,

The cartoon was just kind of an long commercial for the toys...

Um, of course I wasn't at all into that kind of thing when I was little.  I was much too clever for them. ahem

(even if I remember sending in a submission when they had that contest for a new character, and being terribly annoyed that they picked that stupid elephant-headed guy, which wasn't half as good as my tornado-man.  I mean, honestly, it was just another animal-headed person.  They already had like six of those.  Of course, now I understand that it's all about the toys again - you can't really make a tornado into a toy.  If they could have, I'm sure I'd have won...um, but I'm, you know, completely over it, anyway...hehe...)

Re: { Out of Character Chat }
It seems like all the cartoons from that era that got big were commercials for toy and comic sells too. Personally my favorites were these two:

Somtimes I hate having grown older. Nothing will be as cool on the tube again and I can't convince mom to buy the toys for me now... ;o)

(PS: Though I liked Spectreman better than Ultraman... ;o)

Wow, and all (but the one Japanese one -- er, is that Ultraman?) so after my time.

Deesn't anyone else have dog-eared copies of Wonder Woman lassoing hot blonde German spies or beating up distinctly yellow Japanese soldiers?

Actually, all three I posted are American. 1 is from She-Ra for TBs benefit. The other two are Transformers and GI Joe related. I mean who doesn't recognize Optimus Prime and Cobra Commander! :o) *Is Scandalized.*

Kinda like I'd be posting those pics you requested. ;o)

Being an old far person, none of these mean anything to me though I do recognise some of the names.  When I was in me youth, Dr Who was only in his second incarnation and in black and white, the Man from Uncle was considered high entertainment and the Prisoner was totally incomprehensible (and still is).
