Re: Dreamchipper: Let me Make You an Offer
"Nah, keep recording for awhile if you want. One, it never hurts to know a way into the underground, and two, we may be able to utilize Crusher again, and this'll be a path of quick egress. Hell, you keep watching, you might see where I work, but I'll be sure to cut her off by then, won't I?" he muses, smirking as he wonders if the strange woman would go so far as to watch him nap.
On the return home, he sets his idle curiosity to rest and shuts off the gadgets. She seemed possessive over her gizmos, so at least he'd be getting a call over them. He packs the fresh pack of smokes for the next day, then groggily gets his shop ready, passing out on a futon in the back until the place opened at four. He was much relieved that he didn't catch a bad sunburn.
When one of his regulars, Julie Benitez, made her daily visit, he'd have a few questions for her about this job, but until she came knocking, as she usually did if he kept dozing past the shop's regular opening time. When he did, he'd ask her about any street docs she knows in the area of the run that treated mages or awakened individuals such as themselves. If the hospital morgue didn't turn up anyone, maybe the mage-type lead would turn something up in the communities of the living. If she were alive, there'd be questions, and any day ended with more questions than KIAs was a good one.
