Re: Heh?

Ssrivan watches the interesting events at the doorway and commits the data to memory for future ruminations, since his scribe is a bit further back in the line right now and not available to take notes.

Re: Heh?

“It is important to understand one thing here, noble Shih.” Dlarumei whispers, “This place was created by the ancients and we are trying to blend what we know with what they created.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not.  I am no happier about being blinded to what is on that side of the door than you, but I find that it works both ways. The playing field is even for now except Deshnah’s orb has shown us that nothing is in the chamber beyond the door and perhaps we should take advantage of that fact for now and continue onward before things change.”

Being forward

Without overrunning anyone else, Shih moves forward carefully.  As soon as he has a POE reading, he'll briefly pause to look about, then proceed.

Re: Being forward

Deshnah, seeing Shih moving forward and sitting directly in front of the opening, slides down the last few (10) steps, through the hole in the barrier and stands on the sand floor of the chamber entrance, his feet evenly spaced and his stance at the ready to react.

the grass is always greener

As each party member begins to filter through the opening that has been created in the barrier, Deshnah followed by Churisan then Dlarumei followed by Jenge, Shih, Ssrivan and then Nesh. No one ventures out into the room, rather standing at the bottom of the stairs and at the edge of the chamber seems to be the order of the day.  Jenge mutters to himself that there may be a reason why this chamber is empty and not looked after and many of the party now down on the floor feel the same.

That bowling pin feel'n

Shih looks for designs and patterns that might indicate where any ceremony might have been performed or other religious iconography.  He's trying to determine where not to step since POE is currently worthless.

Re: That bowling pin feel'n

The room is large and round with three doorways out and the one that you came in through. There is nothing in the room except a sand floor that extends from wall to wall.  Though POE does not seem to work here in any of its alterations several of you to notice that there is a very slight funnel-like tilt to the floor running to the room’s center. It is so slight that it is almost just a guess on you part that it even exists at all.  There are faint voices to be heard, they seem to echo throughout the chamber and the hallways.  Nothing that any of you can understand and they are almost out of ear shot completely, as though they are reminisces of conversations from eons ago.

Shih evaluates the "sound".  Are they audible sounds or something that I'm registering in some other way?

waiting for instructions

Churisan stands still and waits. He can tell there there is something eerie about this place, and hopes for some priestly guidance before proceeding.

Re: waiting for instructions

For those of you who are ever so patiently waiting, there is much in store.  Unfortunately you will have to wait till the end of July to be satisfied.  I will finish defending my research and masters then and will be able to return to other worlds and joys.  Thank you for your continuing patience.

from out of time

Though the fog lay heavy on the ground, deep silence having engulfed the region, a small, perhaps imperceptible glow sparks in the center of mists.  It grows, ever-so-slightly, and pops to life with a small burst of light. There is a ripple in the fog, like the water after a stones throw, and warmth from the glow that seems to entertain the thought of hope in the midst of the dark solitude. The slight, deep, hum that accompanies the light would indicate a coming to life, or the though of movement at the very least.  At the most it is a call, a siren to those who know its nature best, pealing forth a beacon to join again the light of adventure and intrigue. A single hand held out in the invitation to come again to the worlds that await and cry out of foot prints to be made upon their soil and ripples to be made amidst their waters.

The adventure continues

Re: from out of time

The quiet of the chamber sings volumes and the chorus grows greater as time passes.  The harmonies weave in and out and the tones gain strength as more join the refrain.

I wait only to hear from a few others, those who would join us and enjoy the journey and those who return and continue. I will be whittling the party down to only two NPCs and those who are active.  My hope is to improve game play by cutting away the dead wood.

congrats on the baby boy!! I wish for you much joy and sleep

food for thought

In the still of the chamber the air seems to move in a clockwise fashion, neither entering nor leaving the room.  The room itself, being structured in the form of a dome, adds to this feeling, and gives the air motion purpose.  There are four doorways all arched and one at each point of the compass.  The party has just entered through the west doorway and has spread out along the wall on either side of that doorway. Though the room is perhaps 15 meters across no one has ventured further than a single meter into the room proper. The walls and dome of the room, which are practically one in the same, cast off a light blue light which makes the sandy floor seem to sparkle.  The sand in predominantly white, but seems to have a few slight color variations swirled into the mix.  They do not seem to be in any particular pattern but there seems to be a clockwise aspect if one concentrates deeply on the floor as a whole. Due to the blue hue that the walls and dome are casting into the room, it is impossible to see past any of the other doorways.  They stand there dark sentinels to what may lie beyond.

I still wait to hear from two others, but starting to think should be okay for the moment.

Re: food for thought

SSrivan summons his delectable scribe and delves into the bag of implements she carries, looking quite focused.  He finds something deep within the pack and draws it forth--a small container, which he opens carefully to drop a few grains of sand onto his palm before returning it to her to close and stow once more.  He will then gather up a few grains of the sand in this chamber to compare to that in his palm.

Shih carefully knocks the inch of metaphorical dust and cobwebs from his shoulders and continues listening to try to understand what's being said. (i.e., post 590).
