Krillis.. My point is simply that you are assuming that all people are 'good guys' which, in fact is a false statement. If you want to go ahead and believe it is true, then by all means, I won't stop you, however, in the thread where it is a possibility for an unknown entity, an assumption that they are good would in fact be only a possibility. In keeping that you don't know who would be run through it, making assumptions wouldn't be the correct thing to do as that would be based only on your own experiences.
Now, along with that train of thought, if we were to have a verser that trule was an evil person... Day fights for the 'light' but the guys that are on the other end of the spectrum, like that guy that was in the gather world we were in when you kicked me for me trying to kill you in a previous gather world.
If he were to go through there, and the world was made to turn him into a 'good guy' it would most likely fail.. chances are, people such as himself are that way from the beginning, whether or not they realize it, and only through experiences does that nature come to fruition.
I thought the conversation ended with Jhiaxus. Please, stop badgering and baiting me.
1. You just put words into my mouth.
2. You made false assumptions about my personal preferences and my personal beliefs of mankind.
My point was simply that he's not going for something that EVERYONE will be able to read happily. In novels, generally one has to stick with hero OR anti-hero. I find it very hard to make the individual both, unless there's some developement over the course of the story.
Choose Your Own Adventure novels are like a roleplay, but not as efficient as almost any of the systems. Like any computer game, it can only give you a certain amount of choices; therefore, the character will in fact have to follow a paths which the author intends.
I actually considered writing a Choose Your Own Adventure book a while back, when I was in high school. I wrote CYOA stories with only paragraph-long scenarios (no fluff or plot) back in my freshman year of high school. An idea that I had would be to write a CYOA book with the front cover, and front half of the binding blue. The back cover and second half of the binding would be pink, and it would be the adventures (perhaps insanely crazy and dangerous) of either a boy or girl throughout the day. I found it as a way to appeal to a larger audience-both males and females.
Perhaps you could pull a similar color-scheme, if you wanted to appeal also to readers who wish to follow a criminal path in the game. The only thing is, it would be hard to incorporate how to bring them 'back to the light' if they wanted to.
