Re: O_O

I think someone has potentially been reading too many expanded universe books, but the excuse was a valid one and the transition has been executed in a dramatically skillful manner.

I definitely agree, Tom.  That story twist was excellent.  :)

However, I am duty bound to oppose changes toward the Dark Side...

Re: O_O

There, that's a little better.

The only works I've read recently have been...

1. The Education of Henry Adams
2. The Tragical History of Dr. Faustus
3. Reclaiming Conservatism
4. Social Darwinism in American Thought
5. Beowulf
6. The Tempest
7. The Country Wives

There are other brit lit. works that I've read, but those're the major ones.

Besides, we needed more baddies, lol.

Oh man... just read up on the gather.. I usually stop reading after I leave the world.. it goes by too fast for me to really care.. but with a change like this? Nice..  Krillis and Avahur need to meet up again some time..  If Avahur ever gets past his current world *cough*postalready*cough* and yea.. should be fun, eh?

Playtester:
"The cloak is mine, or was. The helmet came from the corpse of a samurai a century or so ago.  The gauntlets...well, honestly I prefer my natural talons.  And the sword is one that a black knight left in the main eating hall after someone dropped a gate to Entropy on him."

Ouch.

Even though I didn't choose to depart the temple leaving Krillis and the rest behind, and even though IC I think that there isn't much choice in light of all that is at stake with the Quest, I am proceeding IC with the assumption that if the folks left behind get into trouble, the worst that will happen is getting versed out.

Having Krillis getting turned to the Dark Side as a consequence of my departure is pretty nasty.  And having him armed with the evil sword of a black knight made available by my successful attack with the tapestry is an extra little twist of the irony knife by PT...  :o

Well, PT is going on his well-deserved extended GMing vacation in about a month, and I'll be taking over with a Grand Gather, so folks who wish for a chance to meet up again may well have that opportunity...  :)

Thanks!  I'm looking forward to it also...  :)

What is it going to be all about?  Top Secret... but I'll give two microhints:

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)

(*) PT plans on taking at least a year off of GMing, so this thread may well run for quite awhile

Spoiler text: (Highlight or hover over the text to view)

(*) The thread title is... "The Last Verse"...  :D

I have no idea what it's about, but I'm totally looking forward to it, lol.

Of course, I have my own theories that I don't think I want to share, but I definately think it's going to be great.  Oak has a way of being awesome.

I'm still kinda disappointed that my gather world didn't really work out all that well...

Nah, it worked out fine.  Real Life Takes Precedence.  You were able to start it, and PT was able to step in and finish.  A worthy collaboration...  :)

Re: O_O

Sounds very intriguing, Oak.  I don't think I've played in a world run by you before. (Fair warning: I'm a much better GM than a player. And for those worried, I'm not coming in as the 400 yr. old Tadeusz, instead its the "I guess you can call me Tadeusz. This is my fifth world or so."

The Valley--alien Avians and TK, botched out of here with a pyrokinetic botch.
The Postman--executed my first guy, became President of the Reunified USA; post-apocalyptic scenario, published my first book "Ghost Tales", was nicknamed "Ghost" by the locals.
Philly 2007--Fought vampires with miracles; met my first other verser, David Marcoe and the preacher/vampire hunter doppleganger of myself
Blake's 7--Tried to overthrow an evil space empire with psi, and almost succeeded.
The Playground--Wandered about, met another verser, Mark, and died of radiation poisoning.
The Web--This place is seriously creepy. Its totally bizarre and claustrophobic and nasty (Its a very good horror scenario). Accidentally killed some locals.  Went on attack, and got killed by the Beast in the Garden.
Why Spy?--Met Kelly Tessena, other verser, and worked for another verser C, the leader of a spy agency.  Stopped one bad guy plan, and got my Persuasion raised to 2@1 due to my persuasive nature "I've never tortured anyone before so I'm not really sure how to do it, but I'm willing to experiment...", and am currently on an airplane thats been taken over by hijackers (its the Steven Seagal cameo movie).

And my first gather is to be "The Last Verse".  Cool.

It's awesome how time works in this game.  For all I know, the Magister of the Northern Winds could very well have been a different Krillis all together, and this Tadeusz probably has no idea who I am.

Amanda,

Have an awesome trip!

Heads up, Hadrian -- the tapestry left with Oak and Day...  :o

Light reading

Actually I still have 'Words of Fire' and 'Lightplay' on me, and I can't read both at the same time, so not need to go to bed without a goodnight story.

*GASP* I LIVE!!!

That's right. You didn't think you'd be rid of me that easily, would you? ;)

I'm really sorry for the inactivity, guys. RL had caught up with me, so I've been really busy with school and stuff for the past few months. However, I've talked to PT and I believe I am ready to begin again.

It's good to be back.
