Quindil Liahstia rolled 13 using 1d20+4. Spot Check.
Quindil is too preoccupied with all the dwarves to notice the two goblins running away.  And those goblins are lucky indeed, as Quindil has had quite enough to do with traitorous goblins.  The next goblin prisoner he has, he will be killing outright.  No questions asked.

Erdthar simply takes off after the excapees, easily running them down.

OOC:  being as my single move is the same as the full run of the goblin in plate, I may even get an attack this round.

Renoart and Erdthar charge after the goblin traitors as they step over Pello’s fallen body. Erdthar’s mighty strides bring him across the room with great speed. Renoart not near as fast as Erdthar still has some legs underneath him as he too closes in quickly with the enemy.

The plate mailed goblin struggles to keep his pace, clanking and clinking as he goes he realizes he will die running. Therefore he turns to face the two heroes. ”For Malauth!” He screams as he readies his axe.

The lighter armored goblin continues in his stride as he looks back over his shoulder; watching his comrade turn to fight. He stutters for a second, looking as if he too might stop, but then his fear gets the best of him and he continues on south.



As the chase peruses many of the dwarves hastily make their way over to their elevator contraption and begin to inspect it. Two of these dwarves wonder behind the contraption for a minute, and then come back with a few sets of small tools. Immediately upon receiving the tools, the dwarves go about adjusting the contraption. Wrenching it here, hammering it there, and even kicking it a few times.

Another group of dwarves, lead by a burly looking middle aged dwarf, begin to gather some boulders and move them closer to the elevator shaft. The dwarves form a line as they collect the boulders from the room’s perimeter and pass them down a “chain-o-dwarves”, kind of like an assembly line.

From the way they work in unison it is hard to tell that just moments ago these very same dwarves were screaming and hollering at the top of their lungs. Evidently imprisonment could do that to some one, even dwarves. Many of them still seem shaken, but they are working none the less.

"By the Worms of Kyuss! You shall die for your cowardic treachery!!!" Vespian notes the stabbing of Pello and shrieks in anger. Barely remembering her composure, she choosed the Diva winged form and shifts.

Erdthar bypasses the first goblin as he heads after the smaller faster goblin that has taken the leads.  He quickly closes with the little goblin with enough moment to take a swing …

Renoart gains ground and brings himself within striking distance of the goblin foe. Unfortunately his blade veers wide off the goblin’s armor.

The goblin counters Renoart ‘s swing with a chop of his own, but the little goblin doesn’t fair much better, his swing also glances off his enemy’s armor.

Vespian stretches her feathery wings and begins after the goblin traitors.


OoC: Any actions from the others, chit chat with the dwarves or what not?

"Turn thee traitor and look upon thy death!", shouts Renoart, and angrily swings but misses badly.

Running down the fleeing traitor, Edrthar takes a double-hand swing into his back, slicing deeply.

Erdthar smashes the goblin but the fiend continues to stand. The goblin attempts to counter but his puny dagger is no match for Erdthar's massive axe.

Renoart swings and misses, but again his opponent follows suite.



OoC: I know this is a weak update, but I have a bunch of biz to take care of and wanted to keep the game moving, so take it for what it is and move along.

Stopping suddenly, Erdthar nearly drops his axe when the goblin turns on him, but he quickly recovers and deals another hefty blow to the fiesty greenie.

Gimuld, who was about to make his way to the dwarves to ask them what they were going to do, sees what happened to Pello. He instead bolts toward the gnome an wonders why Milo hasn't done anything. If he can, he tries to either bring Milo with him, or bring the wand.

Quindil, ignoring the confusion behind him, observes the dwarves' actions.
So, uh, whats the plan here?

At the touch of Milo's wand, Pello bolts upright, "Whaaaaaah!?"

"Oh gods. I had the strangest dream about pirates and gnolls and small ghosts in platemail armor." he shakes his head rapidly, and seems to clear up, looking around with a facial expression that's slowly growing darker.

"Say, where is my goblin friends?"

Gimuld and Milo cut their way through the dwarven workers and rush to Pello’s side. Gimuld kneels next to the gnome as he reaches down and cups Pello’s head in his arms, trying to bring comfort to the little being.  Milo arrives but a few steps later and taps the gnome with the wand … Suddenly Pello awakens from his slumber with a shout and cough, a spray of bright crimson liquid flows from his mouth spattering the floor in front of him.

Meanwhile Erdthar, Renoart and Vespian tend to the fleeing Goblins.  Erdthar hacks into his goblin foe as Vespian simultaneously falls from the sky to do the same, between the two warriors the goblin has no chance, and his fate is sealed as his lifeless body tumble to the stone.  Renoart does not fair as well with his foe, his battle has turned to one of a stale mate with neither side being able to get the upper hand.

Quindill remains in the large cavern with the dwarves, looking on in wonder. He queries one of the dwarves as to what is happening when he is greeted by the older dwarf that was in the cell. ”Hail thy.” The dwarf beckons as he walks closer to Quindill, making his way around the line of dwarves. Once he draws close enough he offers his hand to Quindill. ”Great many thanks to ye and yer kin.” As Quindill and his arm embrace the old dwarf pats Quindill on his left shoulder; a warriors greeting. ” Long days have we been here. Till now, when an unknown company of heroes came along.” He looks Quindill up and down for a brief moment. ”I must say never thought it to be elves that came this way. Tell me who sent ye after us? Was it Warcrown? Bah... no mind to that. All that matters is that ye came. Thank Ye!” The look on his face is truly one of thanks and happiness, even through the muck and grime that covers his face, one can see the strong hearted dwarf  that lies deep within his eyes.  ”Now as to your query my friend. There is a Gate in the lower holds, one used by these filthy goblins to set a trap. Unrealized by us was the gate until a hoard of goblins flowed from the walls to over run us. Surprise it was. Surprise is how they got to us lad, not strength.” He waives his hand toward the working dwarves. ”We. We plan to close that there gate. So that the little rats can no longer fall upon us.” He again stares into Quindill’s eyes. ”We’d be much obliged if’n yous were to lead the way. But we are grateful for what you’ve done so far, and we will not ask any more of you. ‘Twould be your choice. We haven’t much to give other than our Honor.” Just then a loud call comes from a across the room, the old dwarf beckons the call as he ends his speech with Quindill.  ” Got work to do lad.” He states as he trots off toward the one that called.

Erdthar whells around, and moves back to the heavily armored goblin, but when he gets close, his feet foul in his own axe, and he falls.

Pello, looking left and right, finally spots the battling Renoart and goblin.

"Wait! HE'S MINE!" the gnomish wizard shouts, as he rises and throws his hands in the air in preparation for a spell. A moment passes, and a moment more, and with a slightly sheepish look, he lowers his arms again.

"Ah.. never mind. Just you take him. Beat him up good, you hear me?"

Vespian glides over to the last Goblin.

"You could have been one of us. We would have taken you to great leadership, the hoardes youwould have commanded would have been legion. Geuss you were to stupid for such an honor."

Now that Pello is safe, he turns his attention to the goblin, but it seem to be taken care of. Instead he walks over to the dwarves and watches what they are doing.

Quindil follows the dwarf back to work.
Aye, I'd be surprised to find another elf here too.  This is quite far from home.  I do like the underground tho, nice change from the trees.
So if there's any way I could help, let me know.  I might not be quite as strong as you dwarves, but I can lend a hand.
