Re: Muhahahahahahahahaha

Vespian and Erdthar get to Renoart’s side and attempt to aid him in taking down the goblin foe. Blades and axe fly, yet none hit their mark as the goblin ducks and side steps. The goblin steps back into the mix and swings hard toward Renoart, but again his swing is deflected.

Meanwhile, Quindill follows the older dwarf and offers his assistance. As he approaches the older dwarf speaks up as he hands Quindill the end of a long rope that has been attached to one of the pulley chains. ”Here hold this and give it a tug, when we tell ya. We’re hopping we can pull that knot free.” He points up above the counter balance contraption. It looks as though the chains got crossed and tangled, binding the elevator.

"Did you cook your food before eating it? Did you have a large variety of vegetables in your diet?" Vespian asks the last Goblin, in Goblin. "I can't decide if I should stew you for Dinner or Spit Roast you instead. And suggestions?"

Ducking and dodgeing the goblin turns his attention to Vespian as he hears the end of her sentence.  "Gross. Neither. You cook your food?" He swings in hard, nearly nipping one of the fancy wings. A silent feather falls as the blade goes by with a rush.

Quindill awaits the signal to pull, as Pello, Milo, and Gimuld hang out and watch.

"She's saying you're a meat-cooking pansie, you moron.  Too stupid even to take an insult."  Erdthar growled, while he swung his axe with a loud swish through air.  His back swing connects though, though it does little damage through the armor.

Moradin's Blessing

Erdthar descends upon the foe with a chop of his axe, even without much force the blade is able to cut deep into the goblins throat.  The goblin murmurs for a second before falling lifeless to the floor.

As soon as the dead goblin’s body hits the floor a massive blue-white light encompasses the entire mine. Brilliant flashes dance across your vision. As you look for the source you find that it flows freely out of nothing, seconds pass like hours as you gaze upon the intimate beauty, and then a loud voice beckons. ”Blessed be thy.” The voice sounds as if it is all around you yet you see no source. All the background sound is gone leaving the voice to ring deeply in your ears. As the voice passes the brilliant blue-white light begins to fade as all your wounds close and bind themselves, leaving nothing more than a faint line, where once a nasty wound used to be.

Magical Effect: Moradin’s Blessing
Heal all lost HP.
+2 on any CHA based skills vs dwarves. (Duration: Eternity, unless you cross Moradin the great God of Dwarves)

Re: Moradin's Blessing

One of the dwarves looks up from his work as Vespian approaches. He held a large boulder in his arms that fell to the ground with a thump. Panting he looks at her.

"Yes me lady we have calmed, Forgive us for our moments of fear.  "twas not long before you arrived that another such group as yourselves came and went, Left us ta die they did." He pants catching his breath. I'm sorry I cant dilly dally, I must be getting this boulder over there. We've got to get to the lower holds, and the shaft is jammed. Them stupid Gobbos dinn't know who to work the derned shaft. Miffed it all up they did." He hefts the large boulder up with a deep grunt. As he strides off to set the rock in place.

You look up to a good large pile of boulders stacked near the shaft with dwarves stacking more all around it. Ropes stretch across the room all tied back to the pulley system that hangs above the counter balance; the chains are severely knotted. Each Rope has a few dwarves ready to tug. Quindill stands ready near one of those lines. One dwarf is climbing the counterbalance chains with a few more tie ropes in tow.

Re: Moradin's Blessing

Erdthar frowns at the tangle for a while, then walks gruffly over to a pair of dwarves.   "Move aside."  He tells them, not so much ordering them, as just expecting them to obey.  Taking the rope, he considers angles, and...  "if I could just pop that chain there, over to this side fo the tangle..."  He mumbles, putting his back into a strong long heave and pulling one twisted chain out of the tangle to hang free along one side.

Re: Moradin's Blessing

As the brilliant lights fade the noise in the room climbs back to its normal tone.

The dwarves continue the frantic pace of work. None of them slowed or even looked up to the Divine light, perhaps it was not meant for them to see.

The heroes do what they can to lend a hand. Erdthar, Quindill, and Renoart take up a few ropes and put their strength into the repair effort. The three tug in unison as the dwarves pull along with them.  A loud “Clang and Pop” fills the air as the chains pop out of their bound position, yanking ropes from some of the workers hands and sending them flailing across the room to land harmlessly upon the floor. As the chains untangle and give slack the elevator plank falls another ten feet or so into the shaft. The dwarves let out a triumphant roar as the elevator returns to operational condition. One of the dwarves, near the counter balance system, tugs down on a large lever, as he does so the plank slowly rises to become level with the cavern floor. Without any further ado the dwarves begin to take the stacks of boulders and place them on the plank; ready to haul them down deeper into the mine.

One of the dwarves looks up from his work of rolling boulders onto the plank, in order to speak with Erdthar. His brow is beading with sweat and he pants to catch his breath.  ”Ey, that’s normally the plan. But we got ta get a gate sealed down der, and we aint got no spell throwers to do it, at least not here. So we figure we can use an old fashion means of plugging the portal up until we get a Mage up here from one of the Citadels. If’n we don’t get it plugged we’ll end up with another swarm a them good for nothing goblins.” The dwarf continues to keep working as he talks with Erdthar.

At mention of their employer, Erdthar got a deep frown on his face.  He wasn't too happy with the industrious, proprietary way the dwarves were going about their task.  Again, he queried the old dwarf.  "Do you know a Master Drace, from Sundabar?  He gave us the impression that the dwarves here had left for Citadel Adbar."

"What I'm concerned with is Felbarr...", He says looking around now at each dwarf to see if he recognizes any from his caravan, "Do any of you hail from the Felbarr cavaran that was ambushed on the way to Sundabar? I have lived, thanks to these brave souls."

Re: Moradin's Blessing

The gruff, old, matted beard dwarf turns away from his supervisor duties in order to speak with Erdthar. ”Hmmm …. Drace you say? Nope can’t say that I know no Drace.” he looks up to Erdthar with a very perplexed look upon his face ”Adbar? Why in tarnashion would we go there? Besides it being a sister stronghold, we Felbarrians rarely set course on that long journey to King Harbromm’s realm. Not much need to.” As he speaks with Erdthar he catches parts of Renoart’s statement and turns to regard the human with a worried look upon his face. ”Concerns with Felbar? What? What happen?” have we missed something, being stuck in this hole for so long? He looks strangely at Renoart for a moment as the rest of the humans statement sinks into his brain. ”Ohhh Felbarrian caravan? That makes more sense. I thought maybe Obould and his orc army had fallen upon the walls again.”He places his hand over his heart as he lets out a sigh of relief, and then continues. ”Sorry boy, but our numbers only been depleted since we been stuck here. Yous and that last band a fools about a two tenday ago been the only souls we seen besides them hated goblins and other nastier beast.” He turns to regard both Erdthar and Renoart ”Sorry, but it doesn’t seem that I been much help fer ya. Aint got no answers fer ya.” He shrugs as he takes a moment to look over his shoulder; keeping an eye on his workers.

The dwarves have now got a good amount of the boulders loaded onto the planks, it seems as though they will be descending very shortly.

Turning back to Erdthar. ”That’s a might odd question ta boot. You look’n at buying a mine?” He smirks with a bit of sarcasm in his voice.
”No , no… just given ya a hard time lad. On to your Query, ‘tis a bit odd of a query though. Anyways … Cryoden here, is now rightfully owned by the “Gem Axe Mining Co.” out of Felbarr.  And yes we’ve got representatives present; you’re look’n at ‘em” He says as he points his right thumb to his chest.

What do you say we find a quiet corner and sort this out?"
