After the goblins’ retreat from the stream the adventures found a nice spot to set and take rest for a few moments as they gathered their wits.
Once the party was well rested they set out north in search of the illusive Cryoden mines. After a few hours march they come to the foot of the mountain range, the awe-inspiring Rauvin Mountains towering above them in the distance.
The sky is clear with but a few clouds speckled here and there. The terrain before the peaks is not near as treacherous as one might think. In fact the foothills seem to be more of an open field with hills pushing there way out, in varies locations. The ground is covered in tall grass with many scrub oak bushes scattered across the hills. Pine trees are the most dominant species but a few Oaks and Maples force their way out of the ground in spots. Large boulders along with small rocks are scattered in no special fashion across the valley floor.
A short trek across a flat section of land and over a hill exposes you to your quest. There on the hill you see a large cave mouth with a wide trail that winds through the foothills up to the entrance. Next to the trail is a cluster of boulders; possibly a land mark used for identifying the trail during winter.
That must be the Mines!
The trail appears to be empty, but it does travel further into the foothills, not all of the trail can be seen from here.
