Re: Brattor's Thrall (Adventure Thread II)

The team opens the door into the northwest room. A massive amount of dust flies out from the room and the sound of air rushing out of it can be heard.

once the dust settles, peering inside, the room looks as though it has not been touched in centuries. Boxes in the far corner are nicely stacked and there are a few barrles sitting with their tops sealed on. Other than not being touched in a very long time the room seems rather uninteresting.

The rubble pile does not make its way into this room, only out into the hall and beyound where the grick was heading.

"Feh, nothing to see here."
Quindil heads out to see what lies beyond the ruined rubble.

Re: Brattor's Thrall (Adventure Thread II)

Quindil carefully heads out into the north hallway. He climbs over a bit of the rubble pile not haveing too much dificulty, but once on it he realizes how dangerous it is, pitfalls everywhere between boulders. The boulders are stacked against eachother into a high pile about 10' high or so for the most part. In between the boulders the dark voids can not be pierced by his vision, giving him a gloomy feeling that something is stalking him from below.

He nearly reaches the edge of the pile, going east, when out of one of the black voids spring four slithering tenticles. The tenticles reach up and grab around Quindil's legs (19,11,19,19 3 hits and a miss) . Each one of them tries to pull him down into the rubble pile.(Strength vs tentacles 11 vs Q's 13, 10 vs Q's 16. 13 vs Q's 9) (damage from fall -1hp)

He fights off the first two tenticles but the third one is strong enough to pull him down into the darkness and out of sight from the others.

The others move closer to the pile to see if they can help get Quindil back.

Quindil: -1hp
Quindill is in the northeast corner of the rubble pile.

"I didn't see that one coming.." Pello says, saucer-eyes fixed on the rubble pile as he slowly backs away.

"Let's find another way out of this room, what say you?"

Re: Brattor's Thrall (Adventure Thread II)

Quindil quickly assesses the situation and decided getting the hell out would be the best choice.

OOC: Not sure if I can do this, but it seems like a logical progression...

He attempts to wriggle free of his attacker and climb back out the hole.

Rolls:08:06, Today: Quindil Liahstia rolled 14 using 1d20+5. Climb Check.
08:06, Today: Quindil Liahstia rolled 23 using 1d20+9. Escape Artist check.

Re: Brattor's Thrall (Adventure Thread II)

The room is silent when suddenly Quindils hands can be seen grasping for the rocks above him. A low pitched growl follows by what seems to be a boot hitting something rather hard.

Quindil kicks the beast off of him and pulls himself up out of the rubble pile. The creature slithers away further under the pile after being kicked in the jaw.

Pello was already on his way out the door, when Quindil makes his return. The gnome spins around, surprised, but then plasters a smile on

"Oh.. you're alive. I mean, thank goodness you're alive. Hey, Erd, help him get out of that rubble."

"Just so ya knows, there's another one of them tentacly monster things down there.  In case you wanted to go make a friend or something."

OOC:Is it possible to cross the rubble pile without, you know, being attacked by a tentacled monster?  Or, at least, to cross without falling into a black pit but still possibly be attacked by a tentancly monster?

Quindil Liahstia rolled 28 using 1d20+9. Balance Check.

Re: Brattor's Thrall (Adventure Thread II)

The group goes about exploring the rest of this level, so far other than a few barrels, some books in the northeast room, and the dead dwarf in the middle of teh floor, nothing seems to be very interesting.

The dead dwarf is a bit of a bother, it is not that old of a body, it wouldnt be a corpse that was here from centuries past, but looks more like an explorer, perhaps from the group that Korenth was with earlier. Korenth, what happened to him anyway, he was probably eaten by a flaming skull or possibly a grick. Vespian has also gone missing for quite some time, the last you remember of her she was checking out an odd scent that she could smell, hopefully she will turn up later.

The group find an exit to the outside, the tunnel that heads west heads on for a while when it comes to a massive set of open wood doors. the group heads to the doors and looks outside to the nights sky. they remiain there for a few minutes enjoying the frewsh air before they decide to get back on with their mission. Find the helm of Brattor, which must be located in the lower levels somewhere.

So the group heads............

"Well, there was a couple of levels below us, that we pretty much just breezed through. Wanna examine them probably, or should we just head straight to the bottom?"

He taps his head

"Whatever the case, I believe I remember the way."

The group seems to come up with a plan. They head back down stairs using the staircase that they came up on.

They get down the starirs, near where they fough the flying skullz.

"Where we go from here, I am uncertain.  Perhaps one secret passage begets another?"

Quindil begins a thorough search of this level, looking for secret passages or other hidden delights.  He starts by looking around the two tapestries.  Taking 20 on search check yields 29.

"Then again, maybe we should take the stairs."
