Re: Notification glitch

I don't know if it makes a difference, but inside game PMs it shows the icon, but the private messages link itself, and the post count don't change color to indicate new PMs. Also, I've never used any browser since I finally got chrome doing everything I want a browser to do.

Re: Notification glitch

I figured out how to remove cookies for rpol specifically through the circled "i" Icon next to rpol's web address in the browser. That made the PM icon go away, but I'm not sure it fixed it (and in any case, the private message indicator and new message indicatordidn't change colors).

Didn't work.

It persists in incognito mode in PMs (which I tried at PM'd suggestion). https://cdn.discordapp.com/att...79796736/unknown.png.

Re: Notification glitch

Interestingly, (back on chrome now) I had the New Message Indicator for this specific thread, but not Technical Discussions itself in chrome just now.

Re: Notification glitch

It happens to me every time I post right now. It started the week before last, around mid-week if I remember correctly.

Re: Notification glitch

Seems to be a Chrome thing.  Just tried with Edge and don't have the issue.

Re: Notification glitch

Same.  Chrome on desktop returns the error upon putting up a new post, but Edge of windows 10 mobile works as expected.

Re: Notification glitch

Interesting.  I now get an 'unread message' flag when I post  :)  Looking at the thread in the game menu shows that I am the last poster.  Opening the thread and 'reading' my own post, cancels the New Message flag.

Re: Notification glitch

It's been happening to me, also - I just came to Technical Discussions to see if it was being talked about.  It's... mildly irritating, but definitely a glitch of some sort, and nothing I've tried from my end has changed it.

All of which is basically just me pretending I'm not posting "Me too!" (like some braindead AOLer*), while cleverly noting that it didn't just go away by itself, and hoping that somebody is looking into it already.  One of Jase's many, many minions.  He has minions, right?  He should totally get some minions.  They're amazing.

Re: Notification glitch

Winged monkeys.  Much more reliable.  :>

I've noticed a few mentions of Chrome having the problem, and a couple suggesting Edge is OK.  My mileage on Firefox is also a clean slate.  Anyone for Internet Explorer ?

Re: Notification glitch

I made the previous post in chrome -  and was notified that it was a new message.  I then started Safari (on the same PC) that showed the notification as well.  So I tried Edge - and that showed the notification as well.

Then I started Firefox (which took longer to get up and running than the other two combined) and the notification is still there ...

I had to log into RPoL on Safari, Edge and Firefox, so each browser should have updated cookies at that point.

Oh - this message was posted in Firefox ....

....  Ironically, posting from FF reset the notification in FF -  but not in any of the other browsers.

For me, I'm getting it with Chrome on my Macbook Air, but not Chrome on my work computer running Windows 10. I'll have to fiddle around with other browsers...

I like 10 just fine. 8 sucked when it came out, but I've had no problems with 10 across several devices.

Re: Notification glitch

It's been confirmed by the admins that it's a Chrome issue at this point.

They've suggested to just use a different internet browser.
