Private line that isn't really private?
In reply to Genghis the Hutt (msg # 1):
Additionally, a private line sent to nobody will throw an error when you try to post it.
EDIT:
If the private line is sent as "Private to Nobody" in a game, it gets routed to the GM instead. It's notable that I cannot even include an example of this surrounded by code tags in a public forum without throwing an error. It makes me wonder what would happen if I named a character in a game "Nobody".
If the private line does not include a recipient:
[Private to: this should be visible by all.]
END EDIT
You can send private lines to NPCs, but I don't know the long-range effects if that NPC is transferred to a player's control for any reason..
As JohnB pointed out by implication, tagging everyone's checkbox on a private line will make it so everyone can see it, but also show them the recipients list...
What were you trying to accomplish? There may be a better way than using a pseudo-private line.
