Imgur image linking
Ive just signed up for an account with imgur.

I want to use an img tag to link to it but cant work out how to get to the actual url out of the site. None of the sharing options give an actual url.

I was told imgur was useful for hotlinking images. Has this changed?

Any help would be appreciated.

On a computer you can right click over an image and then select "Open Image In Other Tab/Window".  This opens the image without the website 'wrapper' and gives you a .gif or .jpg link.

Yeah this is an annoying feature of imgur, I don't know why they do it this way.

My usual workaround (Though the above works) is to to use the BBCode sharing link, the one that looks like this:

[img]https://i.imgur.com/xxxx.jpg[/img]

Strip the [img] tags off and you have a URL that should work.

A simpler option: on most browsers, if you right-click on the image, you'll get an option that says "Copy image location". Use that, then just paste it directly into an <img> tag. No editing required.
