I hadn't even known about the old functionality, because I had never played in a game where the GM made use of the Game Maps that way. I requested that he put map that changes more frequently in the top level and the GM pointed out this behavior to me. Since I use the new site exclusively, now, his careful planning was wasted on me.

On the old site: a) clicking on Game Map from game menu takes me to the Main Game Map b) clicking on Game Map from within Group 0 thread takes me to the Group 0 Map On responsive: a) clicking on Game Map from game menu takes me to the Main Game Map b) clicking on Game Map from withing Group 0 thread takes me to the Main Game Map So I'm getting the same results as Zag24 - different behaviour on which game map loads from within a thread. :> Using latest Firefox on Win 10 PC.

Could we have the same behavior if you are editing a post from such a thread, or if you are making a reply to such a thread? The usage pattern is that I'm making a response or editing one (that is, already on the edit screen), and I realize that I need to state the exact position I'm moving to so I have to look at the tactical map. I middle-mouse-button the Game Map link in order to bring up the map in a new tab, but I don't get the cool, new (to me) behavior because I'm no longer on the thread page. (I know, I know -- plan better. Not my strong suit.) While you're mucking about in there, since I see that game maps already can work off a GET rather than a POST, you might change the action in the Game Map page to use that. The problem is when you navigate to a particular map via the controls on the page, then leave the page and return by hitting the back button -- Chrome has to "Confirm Form Resubmission." You could even put it in the onchange event of the select rather than needing the button at all. |
