At the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to set the particular character you want to roll for but I'm not sure if it is possible.
Thanks in advance!

as a DM you can roll for a charcter by putting in thier name of type an NPC in.
there's a bunch of things you can do with this site's dice roller. Play around with it... Private rolls are good too, so other players can't see what is goign on for something you want hidden.

[dice=1d20+2,1d6 text="roll" memo="Spear Attack & Damage" record=yes]
When you click that link, it opens up the dice roller and has the details populated for rolling 1d20+2,1d6 with each dice recorded and the text "Spear Attack & Damage" in the reason for the roll.
There are other options on the dice roller, I wondered what codes are required to set each one. In particular the character you are rolling as.

This is so that I can set links to my ability checks/skill rolls in my character sheet, then click direct from there to the dice roller without then having to tinker with the dice roller each time I roll.
Lots of set up to start with for lots of time saved forevermore.

Shame there's nothing to pre-select your character but everything else is listed. I'd searched that damn help section for ages! Didn't think it would be in the RuBB section.

Wed 28 Apr 2021 at 03:11 | Dice roller link codesI suspect there's nothing there about pre-selecting your character because the dice roller automatically defaults to the character of the player accessing it, unless that player has multiple characters. Since multiple characters seems to be the exception, rather than the rule, nobody's ever worried about presetting which character, because most of the time, it's already done for you.

rc=<#> rolls as a character, and bo=<#> rolls on behalf of a character.
Generally these options are not required. Character sheets are aware of which character you are viewing and so will set the link to automatically roll for that character.
You must use the character ID assigned by RPoL for these options -- the easiest way is to view a character profile (or sheet) and look in your browser's address bar for a series of characters such as, "&ci=1558". In this case, the ID for the character being viewed is 1558.
"On behalf of" is a GM-only option. Be aware that as a GM, hidden PCs you own will have all their links set to "rc=" (because you own them) meaning that "on behalf of rolls" won't happen from the character sheet (unlike for regular PCs) unless you configure this option.
Example: [dice=1d20 rc=1558]
(roll one twenty-sided die as character 1558)
Example: [dice=2d4 bo=1558]
(roll two four-sided dice on behalf of character 1558)

Yes. Add "secret=yes" within the brackets of the link code.
I did a few test runs, I don't think it even matters what happens after the '=' in the code.
The character string 'secret' by itself will not do it, but 'secret=yes' will do it (as does 'secret=no', 'secret=0', 'secret=1', 'secret=d', etc).
