I've played in a few games here that have petered out. Occasionally, I want to look back at the characters, or I remember a turn of phrase I want to use again. Every time when I look for my old games, I can't find them.

Is there a way to search games you have removed from the sticky list or games you've submitted a RTJ?

Preferences > Manage the games you monitor > Are you missing any games?

It won’t show the deleted games obviously, but everything else will be there.

You can also search for games by GM, so if you entered your own name in that field, anything that's still present would show up.

When I search my old deleted games: alphabetical, a list comes up.

But it won't go past the first page. So I get all the ones with titles A through I.

How do I get to J through Z?

Undelete some?

I'm only allowed to have 20 undeleted, I think.

Does anyone have an actual solution?

I don't see any old games for you I went to the search and typed you in as a gm and the only thing that comes up for me is your current active game.

But if I was Galen, this wouldn't solve Galen's problem.

I think the problem is that you are confusing me for Galen and combining our problems.

Galen wants to find old games he PLAYED in.

I want to find old games i MADE.

It may be worth noting that Moderators occasionally remove inactive games (and those flagged for deletion) from the site, as part of semi-regular maintenance.  Once that happens, those games no longer exist, and there is no record of them.

Regarding the Browse/Search function: there currently seems to be a bug with it when searching for inactive and deleted games.  I'll flag it for jase's attention, and he'll fix it when he has time.

It's still doing it. Search for my old deleted games-- there they are, A through F. Click for the next 25-- here are the same ones, A through F. Repeat cycle forever.

Still not fixed.

Just raised another flag for jase - it's likely he missed the first one in all the troubleshooting around the move to the new site.

So...dumb idea, but if the goal is just to help shapeshade find all of his old games, deleted or otherwise, and the Search function is busted and not working...

Have you tried putting up an ad for a game, shapeshade? Those ad posts auto-populate all of the GMs games, including previously-deleted ones. I'm not sure if it would list ENOUGH games to fix your problem, but it seems like it might be worth a try while the Search function isn't working?

DANNNNG, that DID seem to work. I hated sticking a "just testing" post in there to clutter up the SEEKING PLAYERS posts (I mean I quickly deleted it but it looks like one can still SEE that), but it DID work! Thanks! It's nice to know there's an "emergency override" solution in the meantime.

EDIT: and of course I'm not 100% certain if it just listed ALL my deleted games or MOST of them, but I think it might have been all of them!

Bear in mind that deleted games do drop off and vanish forever, so you may well have had more.

No no, I'm aware that sometimes happens-- that's a big part of why I've been desperate to access my old stuff, all the better to save (the best of) it in my own files!
