Kyle Flannery, PI
Bein a gumshoe ain't half bad. Even in this city, my town, Drake City. She rises from the bay like a slow sinuous dragon, curled tightly around her treasures. Some people call this place dark, but even at it's darkest there's light. Like right now, outside my dingy little office window, sun is shining, birds incessantly chirping, kids are playing. But that's just one of this dragon's scales, push down hard there and the other side rises up.
If this were a Hammett novel some raven haired dame would darken my door and then my heart. It'll be some sob story about a missing sibling, but what she's really after will be not so very nice, and it's my job to separate her from her money, while trying to save the lost lamb she's lookin to fleece. But that's how you play the wheel in this town, if you're rising up into the light, someone else is ready to grind you into the mud. And when people get ground into the mud, that's when the Heroes, and honest joes like me, are there to help them back into the light.
