King Cedric of Wessex
King of WessexSaxon King
Son of High King Vortigern and Rowena, daughter of Hengest
King Cerdic of Wessex is an accomplished warrior-king from Saxony, but with a special ancestry: he is the son of the former High King Vortigern and heir to the tribe of the Gewessi. He can also draw his lineage to Hengest, one of the Saxon kings invited by Vortigern, through his mother Rowena, Hengests daughter.
Cerdic is a big man, his size and strength clear signs of his Saxon heritage. Likewise his long blonde hair comes from his mother, but his face bears a striking resemblance to his father, the dead High King Vortigern.
Cerdic is noted for his ambition and his desire to recover his fathers land; he will do almost anything to get it. He reportedly treats his subjects, whether Saxon or Briton, fairly and equally, which make him both popular and dangerous as he seeks to create a unified kingdom under his rule.
