Matt comes from a small settlement in the central mountain region of Colorado. The people there lived a mostly peaceful existance and survived by hunting and growing crops. What they couldn't produce or manufacture themselves, they would trade for with the roaming merchants who visited the settlement from time to time.

Then the raiders came. Matt was returning from a hunting trip when he spotted smoke coming from the direction of the settlement. He raced back, but was too late. Almost all the inhabitants had been killed and many of the structures destroyed. Determined to get revenge, he tracked the raiding party south-west, eventually catching up with them on the eastern edge of the Mojave Desert. The raiders didn't know what hit them - they were picked off one by one by the stealthy hunter.

With no home to return to Matt continued west, living off the land as he searched for a safe place to settle down.

Matt Carter is 28 years old, of average build (approx. 5'11) with a military mohawk. Hard-working and friendly, he gets on well with people and enjoys community life. He is an experienced hunter and usually carries a hunting rifle and a machete for butchering prey. He's also a half decent cook, specializing in barbecued meat, and dreams of one day opening a restaurant of his own.
