Personal History

Andy was born and raised on a small horse ranch in southern Alberta. At age 16, his father Edward, and older brother, Malcom were killed by a drunk driver. Andy and his mother Joice, worked hard to keep the ranch solvent but Edward's life insurance money was quickly spent and, after a gallant but ultimately futile fight, they were forced to sell. Andy joined the army after graduating high school; his mother died a week after watching her son receive his jump wings. Her autopsy was inconclusive; Andy is sure that she died of a broken heart, having held on just long enough to know that her only remaining son was set on his own path in life.

In the PPCLI, Andy's toughness and competence as a soldier- especially his skill with rifle- won him an appointment to the Canadian army's renowned sniper school.

Andy is quiet and good natured. Very few know that this facade covers a well of deep sadness.
