Elsbeth is a tall (1.95 m), wiry (84 kg) woman with a cosmopolitan set of facial features and shoulder length auburn brown hair.  The latter is usually tied back in a ponytail.  When outside of her armor (either her customized combat hardsuit or combat armor), she favors simple fatigues and uniforms (as most active duty CMC marines presumably do).  She wears no ostensible jewelry or ornamentation on her person - she also does not appear to wear much, if any, make-up.

Elsbeth's inside forearms and nape of the neck display a set of patterned freckles and dimples, indicative of a genetically engineered human (a Frank, in common parlance).  The marks form a sort of two-dimensional barcode, which presumably can be read for additional information - it is essentially which batch (and where) Elsbeth was hatched.  Elsbeth does nothing to draw attention to this fact, but does nothing to actively hide it, either.

The other visible parts of her hands and arms, as well as part of her neck and face are covered with a set of ritualistic tattoos - something that marks her as a member of the Jannissary sect of the Praetorian models of Franks.  Some of the tattoos on her right hand and arm have been purposefully defaced.  Others, such as the ones on her neck and jaw line are marred by other more haphazard burns and scars.  The tattoos on her left arm are unblemished and look newer than the others.

Elsbeth moves with a practiced grace the belies both training and some natural skill.  She appears to be very comfortable in most combat situations, but far less so in any social situation.  While, neither overly homely or attractive, there is something distinctly unsettling about Elsbeth.  It is difficult to pinpoint, but her thousand yard stare coupled with a generally serious demeanor and her occasionally naive questions and prattle are probably reasonable places to start.  In addition, from what you know about how Franks are "cultivated" through an accelerated adolescence and what training a Jannissary bodyguard of the Praetorians might have undergone - and things come into sharper focus.

Something else also doesn't sit right with you.  You dimly recall that weren't all of the Jannissary Franks supposedly destroyed protecting their genetically engineered Sufi Brain Franks charges while staging a coup on a station in orbit around Enchoa Rhi a couple of years ago? Something about illegal genetic experiments?
