Andy Carver is a geek, but is fortunate enough to live in a time and place where that can be a profitable line of work. He works at – runs, really – the tech support department for a major corporation, and earns a high salary and bonuses for it. To escape from this soul-crushing, nine till five button-down and tie nightmare, he likes to indulge he penchant for comics, games, cult movies, quirky music and other nerdery. He was the youngest child in a family of jocks and athletes, always the odd one out and one accidentally forgotten and left behind on family picnics or trips to the zoo. He was loved, certainly... but not understood.

Cute in an unconventional way, he can be funny and attractive and has had more than a few girlfriends, but all have been driven away by his odd hobbies and clinginess. He is gregarious but often called weird, with an eclectic dress sense when not in corporate fatigues. He has a warm heart and cares about other people, but not what they think of him so much. He has found that cultivating a strange set of behaviours and playing the clown is a way to get attention, but also that that kind of attention doesn't necessarily last or found a strong relationship. Though he has plenty of friends (mostly just about as geeky as him), Andy is lonely, and seeks a soulmate as much as anything else.

Andy is tall, with an average physique, medium-length messy brown hair, hazel eyes and sensitive lips usually surrounded by a bit of careless stubble.
