Sebastian Kincaid is many things: gentleman, natural philosopher, entrepreneur, and possessor of a reputation he only half deserves. Certainly, his membership of the Hellfire Club brought him some ill-fame; his theories about the relative nature of time and space make him a laughingstock amongst his fellow scientists; and the publishing house he own has a tendency to issue some quite scandalous manuscripts on the subject of women's suffrage, abolitionism and worker's rights; but he isn't quite the roux, anarchist and fool he's made out to be by the gossips.

Not quite.

At 6' Kincaid cuts a tall, dashing figure, kept in fighting trim by his constitutional walks through the city and rides in the countryside, and his practise of the gentlemanly martial art of bartitsu and other various exploits. He is in his early thirties and moves with a galvanic energy, as if motivated by restless spirits. His coal-black hair, hinting at Irish ancestry, is unruly and often sticks up in wild tufts that resist the comb, and his bright green eyes sparkle with intelligence and wicked wit.
