Perian is quite handsome, with hair that would be descibed as sun-bleached anywhere but inside Five Coils, and intense, dark eyes. Beneath his cloak, his clothing was once very well made, and is still assiduously maintained, but it shows signs of frequent ill treatment, passably mended tears, and minor stains.

As he is at least somewhat recognisable, Perian prefers to hide his face with his cloak when dealing with the people of Five Coils, which also conceals the orihalcum circlet he wears - another sure sign that he is Anathema. Despite these distinguishing traits, he spends more time in public than should be safe, and has thus far survived to return to the Freerunners.
