General Description- A small, slim anthropomorphic skunk with purple eyes and a graceful, modest way of carrying herself. Her tail is wide, but not overly long, and her short brown hair has a gentle wave to it that seems to work in the contour of her body. Her rounded ears are also short, but attentive. Other than being what she is, she’s not very physically remarkable.

Attire: Flowing clothing, usually in hues of pink, purple, or white. Her most typical attire is a pink blouse with a V-neck and long, billowy sleeves, along with purple bell-bottoms. When walking outside and traveling, she wears purple slip on shoes. When in a place of residence, a sacred place, or a comfortable place where she will be for a while, she goes without any footwear.

Personality: Usually very quiet, though always focused. Paula does not back away from that which she sets herself to. She often has a goal that she is moving towards or an answer that she is seeking, and she is steadfast in that. However, in purely social situations, she tends to let others talk first and only offers comments when she feels it would be most helpful or when the conversation is directed to her. She’s not shy, as this would make it seem, but she’s also not overly talkative.

Powers:

Skunk (Natural) – Paula is a skunk at her core, and has some of the same physical attributes and abilities. Aside form glands at the base of her tail (which she doesn’t use unless absolutely necessary), she has short handclaws and natural agility.

Communication (Light) – Paula can meditate in order to better connect with the energy stream of the area around her. The energy stream is defined as the primary element or elements that make up the current environment. Paula cannot use this to control the energies, but she can use this to learn more about what is around her and locate other beings through the stream.

Skills:

Spiritual Technique (Death) – Paula has been instructed in the use of a fighting technique specifically designed to combat spiritual beings. It is a combination of magical sealing arts and the focus of the energy of her aura through her hands and feet. This technique is absolutely harmless against any the physical body of any being, and cannot be performed on the physical plane.

Spiritual Awareness (Light) – Paula can sense a great deal of energy around her without any preparation. Beings of purely spiritual nature set off something of an alarm in her mind, even if they’re possessing a physical being. She also has learned knowledge of many different systems of spiritual belief, being able to recognize traditions from various schools and churches.

Yoga (Nature) – Paula practices Yoga regularly and takes it seriously in terms of physical care and spiritual attention.  This means that she is very flexible, yes, but also skilled in meditation and awareness of the self.

Weaknesses:

Sleeping Insight – Paula’s ‘Communication’ ability can only be accessed once she falls asleep and enters a state of dreaming. She cannot use it or interact directly with the energy streams otherwise. Her spiritual communication is also greatly limited unless she is in a dreaming state.

Huggable – Paula has a tendency to get hugged by other characters who are susceptible to cute creatures. She’s also very agreeable and non-confrontational if she can help it, meaning that she doesn’t usually object to much. All of this combined, she’s not very threatening at all.

Equipment:

Clothing – Mostly light. Provides no above average protection.

Charm Belt (Light) – A memento from her travels. It holds a great deal of importance to her. Protects against attacks on her mind and serves as a kind of identifier to herself should she ever forget.

History:

Her master, Ito, had sent her out long ago on a pilgrimage to learn more about the universe and seek the ever-elusive ‘perfect balance’ of mind and spirit. Since being sent out, she has traveled only very little, but has learned much and is always willing to learn more.  Daily, she inquires to people about meaning and purpose and life and pays great attention to the energies of the cosmos swirling all about them.

Despite her master’s teachings, however, Paula does not truly know all that she needs to know about searching for balance.  So much is still a mystery to her, and forces such as Chaos and Death personally feel ‘wrong’ in her mind, even though she was taught that all the forces of the universe are needed for it to be balanced.

Still, she travels, learning.  An eternal student of the Universe.
