Height: 5' 3"
Hair: Blonde  --  Eyes: Brown

Toni was named after her grandfather, Anthony Vincenzo. He was the editor of the Independent News Service in Chicago during the 70's. It was a low-rent newspaper that struggled to compete with Chicago's big boys of The Trib and the Sun Times. The paper found its niche by focusing on news that went under-reported by other press. Stories of the weird and unusual were of special interest to some of the staff. The INS was among the first of mainstream media to provide paranormal explanations for the bizarre happenings within the city.

Unfortunately, that hurt the paper's circulation. In those days, people preferred to be kept in the dark about the supernatural. They weren't ready to learn the truth. Reporters working for the INS were thought of as hacks and its readership viewed as crackpots. The paper was popular with a devoted group of conspiracy theorists, but that wasn't enough to sustain it. The Independent News Service was shut down in the early 80's.

Toni recently resurrected the INS as an online website. Non-humans aren't always treated fairly by most news organizations. She wants to follow in the footsteps of her late grandfather, and provide an outlet for the unbiased truth. The mainstream press will splash accusations against the supernaturally gifted across the front page, and bury any later retractions in the back of the paper. Toni insists on balanced reporting from her staff. She won't shy away from negative articles about non-humans, as long as they're backed up by facts. But the INS will also cover news that presents the positive side of the paranormal -- stories that are often ignored by bigger media.

Toni has a strong activist spirit and a liberal point of view. As a child, she rescued strays. As a teenager, she was a frequent champion of the underdog. In college, she organized several protests for a variety of causes. She's smart, outspoken, and not afraid to ruffle a few feathers.
