Joseph was born in Ireland in the 30's. He enjoyed reading about ancient history, especially about Gaelic history and going all the way back to Sumerian times. He had exceptional eyesight and that was before his embrace. He also had a way about himself that people seemed to flock to. He was studying in Italy when he met a fellow historian named Dupree. They both were in the process of examining some artifacts in an Italian museum and while examining them Dupree was impressed when Joseph mentioned they were fake. He pointed out some flaws that were inconsistent with the time period and some errors in the script. Dupree decided to see how Joseph might be as a ghoul for the Tremere.

Joseph spent the next 40 years working in the Chantry cataloging and examining artifacts as part of his training. The more they gave him to decipher and examine, the more Dupree was impressed. Eventually Joseph was embraced about 10 years ago. He was sent to the Manitou Springs to assist the Tremere and has set up his haven in the Library with a room also in the Chantry. He has made the head librarian his Retainer and also established ties to various contacts.

He is about 25 in appearance and stands about 5'8. He dresses in suits and could easily be mistaken for a professor at a college. You can usually find him either at the Chantry or at the Library examining new books or reading ancient texts.
