Red Stick is the remains of Baton Rouge after an earthquake diverted the Mississippi's course to flood it under 30 feet of water. Due to cost and toxic contamination, it was decided to not rebuild and instead move the state capital to New Orleans. For the next couple decades the water receded a little, leaving the ruins still flooded and overgrown into a swamp. After the Final War some some waster refugees found the half-dozen buildings that remained standing in the middle of the swamp, and made them their home.
