Kisaiya Lorena

Name: Kisaiya Lorena
Home: San Francisco
Height: 5'3"
Weight: 115lbs
Activities: Singing, Dancing, Violin (all classical and show tunes), reading (Fantasy, Mysteries, Thrillers, Romances), softball, baseball, bicycling, walking and swimming.
Quote: "If I can't do it, then I didn't try hard enough."

Relationships: Alan James: The 19-year-old has one romantic association, a trumpet player named Alan James. It lasted most of her Freshman year, before he left her for a blonde flute player. The breakup was very traumatic for the young woman, and left her wondering if she would ever have another boyfriend. Still, he is around, coming to her ball games, playing in the orchestra. He has since broken up with his girlfriend and wants to get back together. She remains friendly, but does not want another relationship with him.

Tasha Anderson: Kisaiya grew up with her, and they are close friends still. Tasha was a dancer, but was more into ballet than her friend, and left after one semester to New York to join the Metropolitan Ballet. Kisaiya wanted to go with her, but her dance was more improvisation and wanted to stay in California. Still, they chat often and sometimes she gets to see Tasha perform on the internet.

Jennifer Lawson: Another childhood friend, Jennifer goes to Berkeley with her, and plays softball with her. Jennifer is just as talented as Kisaiya (or Kitten as she calls her) and is a catcher, so the two of them play together on the varsity often. Their freshman year, both went with the team to the state playoffs, and partied together. Jenny is her very best friend, and they both hope to get good enough to play baseball with the guys, should it ever be allowed. Kisaiya is a better hitter, and has a wicked curve ball pitch, but Jen is better at fielding. Both are only children, so they consider themselves to be sisters. This becomes funny at clubs, as they are both redheads, but Jennifer looks older, and is a bit taller and lighter skinned. Jen is the more serious one, and often is the one to keep Kitty out of trouble, much like an older sister would do.

Description: Kisaiya is a pretty young lady, with very long red hair, blue eyes and a lithe, fit figure. She is somewhat darker skinned, a throwback to her Romani heritage from her mother’s side. She is petite, but quite athletic, with a pretty voice and a tendency to dress in bright clothing, gypsy style. She has climbing vine tattoos moving up both her arms, ending with a willow tree tattoo on her back.

Personality: Kisaiya is a vibrant young lady, a bit unusual and sometimes a bit brash. She makes friends quickly, but often spends time alone, being a bit moody. She loves her music and dancing, but loves the competition of sports more. She is a bit naive, and expects that everyone is good until proven otherwise. She is not one to make friends easily, but is fiercely protective of her friends. She is emotional and wears those emotions on her sleeve. She is sensitive to criticism and tends to need to understand why she is being criticized before accepting it.

History: Kisaiya grew up in the bay area, originally in Oakland, then in San Francisco. Her father left when she was young, so she had grown up with her mother. Her mother is of Romani heritage, and she named her daughter to follow that. The young woman follows that, speaking English, Spanish and Romani.

At a young age, she showed a talent in music and dancing. She grew up doing all, playing violin, singing and dancing. She also played softball, and with her best friend Jennifer, played in both middle school and high school. When accepted to Berkeley, played varsity softball as a freshman (pitching) and also performed in theater and orchestra. As a 2nd year student (and just shy of 19), she has full days and loves to spend time with friends, both musical and in her sports. She visits her mother often, and has met some of her mother’s family, but otherwise is a bit of a loner, except for her friends.

Strengths/Virtues: Kisaiya is fairly strong-willed, and forces herself to be outgoing, which sometimes makes her a bit overbearing. She is very serious about her music, dancing, and softball. She is physically fit, loves everyone and is concerned about the disenfranchised, being part of a minority.

Faults/Weaknesses: When it comes to both her music and sports, she is rather defensive. Those who are having problems attract her, but she has no patience for those who are not willing to try and fix things, which makes her likely unfit to be a teacher. She is also very naive, quick to trust and firmly convinced that the world could be a better place if people just would try harder. She also wears her emotions on her sleeves, which makes her feelings easily aroused and hurt. She is sometimes upset by even creative criticism, which can get her in trouble. Like many Romani, she is a free spirit, and does not like limits placed on her outside of performance and athletics.

Powers: None.
