History/Backstory:

Silas was the youngest of the three boys and knew the family business would be passed down to his eldest brother John, when the railroad came though so did the telegraph it peaked his interest and he learned from the station agent at 18 he was sent to his first post as an Assistant Station Agent and has traveled to various areas as needed. When the opportunity presents itself he does travel home every chance he can.  But for the most part enjoys the travel his profession affords him.  He was raised in a small town  of Walton, KY, which boomed once the railroad came through.  His father was a carriage maker by trade, his mother was active in the church.  He and his brothers were raised with the core values his parents held dear, work hard, be kind and fair, and always help a neighbor in need.  The opportunity has come up for him to run the El Paso telegraph station, he accepted without hesitation hoping to lay down some roots and call El Paso home.
