Dr. Royce Thornton is an enigma in many ways.  Seemingly ageless, he is praised by the District Attorney's Office and the New York police department as a prodigy of Forensic Analysis, as well as being a gifted medical surgeon.  Yet, he has a reputation as being insular...and at times, caustic.  His obvious British heritage is unexplainable as it is curious.

He stands a gaunt six feet and a quarter, and though lending a powerful frame, he has a weak countenance. Wiry muscles sculpts his frame but at times, Royce is wracked with a sickening cough.  He misses nothing when engaged in a medical case, or a venture that catches his fancy, but seems caught in his own minds grip otherwise.
