Unmistakably a cowboy, from any distance.  His movements are deliberate and a little pained, his legs slightly bowed, and his skin looks as if it's spent a great deal of it's time out of doors.

He's a very old man for the time, although with the sun-damage and wrinkles on his face it's hard to gauge for sure.  Certainly well north of 50.  He always wears a cowboy hat out of doors, and always politely removes it indoors.  His moustache is very big, a little out-of-date in it's style, but well-maintained and silver/white.  His hair is of the same colour, but there's not too much of it left.  It's receded a long ways, and he's well on his way to bald.

His clothes are worn - Brown jacket, white shirt, brown pants, brown boots, brown vest, blue tie.  All functional more than fashionable.
