Tim Charles White

Tim was born into an upper middle class family in Brighton. His father was a lawyer and his mother a teacher at the local high school. From an early age Craig wanted to join the military something his family worked hard to discourage culminating in a blazing row and Tim walking out the front door at 17.

A couple of days later he enlisted at the local Royal Marines recruitment station. His first taste of military life other then basic and advanced training was life on board the troop ship towards the Falkland Islands. He was not long out of the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines (CTCRM) at Lympstone, Devon, just a matter of days when the call came through.

Three tours of Northern Ireland followed as well as extended deployments to Cyprus and Germany.

He always had the intention of going to officers school at Sandhurst, but never got around to it instead concentrating on his NCO career.

His career progression was Recruit Training, Specialist Qualification level 1 (Armorer), Specialist Qualification level 3 (Reconnaissance Operator), Junior Command Course, Mountain Leader Course, Royal Marine Sniper School, Specialist Qualification level 2 (Armoured Support), Senior Command Course, Advanced Command Course, Late Entry Officers Course Sandhurst.

Tim was close to leaving when he was offered a place on the Late Entry Officers Course at Sandhurst. This was more of a delaying action on the part of his CO then anything else. Once he graduated Tim was assigned to O Rifle Squadron, Fleet Protection Group, 3 Commando Brigade. He stayed for a couple of years and then was cut lose by the service when budget cuts began to bite.

He was then head hunted by a American company and he and his wife emigrated. Not long after his wife was diagnosed with cancer and it was through the specialist care that the company provided she was able to pull through. When an offer was made to Tim he could not turn it down nor would he.
