James (Jimmy) Gerrold MacGuire

James Gerrold MacGuire "Jimmy".

Former 19D (US Army Cav Scout), did his 4, then joined the Reserves, kept up his skills.  From Sayre PA, a graduate of Sayre High School (The Redskins), where Deer Hunting is like a religion, and his "Real" job is a used car salesman.  He's roughly 35, divorced, has elderly parents, no kids and a brother with a daughter and two sons that he spoiled on occasion.

That said, Jimmy had ideas of a partial retirement and stayed in the Reserves, got him a night school degree from King's College in Scranton.  Soon he was going slowly up in rank and moving specialty to Intelligence Analysis, which lead him to learning Russian and Russian culture, as well as linguistics in general.  Car Salesman by day, Russian intelligence operative one weekend a month, two weeks out of the year, sometimes more as needed.  He was likely especially useful for interrogation, and was activated a few times to do it.

At time of joining the Project, he was a Master Sergeant (E-8) in reserve branch of INSCOM.

But what he always talked about in civilian life was his Cav days.

He didn't tend to talk about what he actually did for the government.

When the Storms hit in 1985 he lost his brother and his two nephews, leaving his niece as his only close blood relative that has long to live, since his parents are in their 70's.

Joined the project because he "gets" it, wants to do the right thing, and he had the skills to be useful to them.  Likely he came up on a list of people due to his Intelligence connections, language, and people skills.

Prior to joining up in the project, and having an idea of what might happen he picked back up his childhood interest in the Harmonica, as a way to break ice, and express himself.  He brought quite a few with him. and some phrasebooks!
