Daniel Black Feather

Born into the Slinger Gypsy Trucker clan by an American Indian father who married into the clan.  The White Buffaloes were a longtime ally of Slinger's clan, and on the way to Seattle from Slinger's base in Spokan they were jumped...

And wiped out.  His last memory was running with his baby sisters in the point 1 ton ford superduty at the age of 15.  His father radioed him to leave and through tears he did.  He made it to Maryville were the waystation's owner took him in and he eventually
married his daughter.  One of his sisters died a few years latter from an influenza epidemic.  Daniels wife died in childbirth (the baby lived) and Daniel sought no other wife.  While he is a believer in what Parson preaches, he also lives in the land of his Ancestors, and now considers himself a Ghostwalker.

He stays at Maryville to follow his first love Blacksmithing and Coopering.  He grew up on patriotic tales of before the white mans folly (nukes).  He was taught how to fight and learned tactics.  And he is a natural talent well sought after at the still, either making fuel, mead, or whiskey.  He still has the Ford and when asked will drive with the Slingers. But no one drive it except him.  He also has a burnt out 5 ton army flatbed that he has modified to be a buckboard with a six horse team for local
deliveries.

While he is loosely a part of the Slingers and hold their trust sacred. Slinger knows he has no hold on him.  Daniel has been known to walk off with a knife and nothing else for no reason apparent to any but himself.  When he returns he will lamely smile and say it is an "Indian thang" and eat like he has not seen food for days.  He works for the good of the station and the truckers.

General stuff

Daniel is 6' 2" and has short Black hair.  He is muscular and the roadmap of his work rests on his hands and body.  His typical dress would be MP OD coveralls, combat boots, white undershirt, cowboy hat with goggles and a bandanna/drive-on rag around his neck.  He does possess an old M1 steel helmet with woodland cover and PASGT vest but they are usually left in the truck.  When he does wear the vest it is invariably left undone.

He is normally armed with a Colt M1911 in a shoulder holster and a sawed-off 12 ga. over-under ("Trucker's Friend") in a thigh holster.  Several tomahawks and a Bowie knife complement his usual load-out (#6, Atchisson AA-12).

"Windigo" is a modified and armoured 1988 Ford F350 Super Duty tow truck with ram bumper, front winch, swing arm, CB radio and small 2 wheeled trailer.  Portable forge and casting furnace. There is a detachable plow blade (snow or gravel). The front windshield has been replaced with 2 armourd Lexan view ports (like a Ranger) and side vision blocks. There was an oversized gunport in between the driver and passenger view ports, and in each of the side doors. The cab has been sealed and made NBC proof as much as possible but there are also 2x M17 gas masks in the locker behind the seats, along with a ration pack. 2 external spotlights (hand-aimed) fog lights and a light bar have been added.

His truck has since been upgraded with the IC engine and drive train replaced with a fusion-electric power cell and all-wheel electrical drive.  Communications and electronics include 2 PRC-70 radios, Autonav, MPC, RDF module, 2x AN/PVS-5 NVGs hung on dashboard pegs for driver and passenger, and an AN/TVS-5 thermal scope and CP-7 rangefinding binoculars.  An electric Chainsaw, 1 case HC SMoke, 1 case M26A1 fragementation grenades, demo kit and 2 demo charges have been added to the external locking storage.  There is 1 Case of AN/M8 HC smoke grenades (16) under the passenger seat.

There is a gun rack behind the front bucket seats containing a loaded Atchisson AA-12 and M21 sniper rifle.  There is an Uzi in a bracket in both the driver and passenger side doors.  He keeps his personal grenade issue (4x M26A1 fragmentation, 4x M34 WP, 2x BZ) in a leather satchel between the front bucket seats.  There is an M72 grenade launcher in a dash-mounted bracket, 40mm HE loaded.  Behind the passenger seat is a 36-round grenadier's vest, behind the driver's seat is a rack for 4 M72A1 LAW rockets.

Daniel considered cutting a hole for a roof hatch into the passenger side and mounting a ring mount there but this was deemed a little impractical.
