Diego is a slight figure of a man who makes up for his lack of stature with extravagant gestures, expensive (but loud) clothing and a piercing voice.

He is very unhappy about the large mole which has recently appeared on the end of his nose and has taken to growing a luxuriant moustache to try to distract attention from it.  At odd moments he will whip out a small steel mirror and spend some time combing and brushing his hair - and especially his moustache.

He brought with him from Estalia a habit of snuff-taking.  This he keeps in a small silver snuff box which he never lets out of his sight.  After partaking he tends to sneeze and then dab at his nostrils with a silk handkerchief, a couple of which he keeps up his sleeves.

Although he possesses a rapier and a pistol he is rarely known to use them, preferring instead to use a good craftsmanship, hand-tooled foil.
