William McGuffin (known universally as Billy) is an unremarkable man of average height, balding with short mousy hair and light olive skin.  He tends to wear plain clothing in subdued colours and little stands out about him. When he is working around the ship he normally wears a set of faded brown overalls with a few basic tools stuffed into pockets and a hand comp that always seems to have the right manual on it.

Years of working his way around the merchant fleet as an engineer or handyman has left him with a very broad understanding of exactly how ships systems work.
