Sanjar Zand

A man of slender, even slight, build who is none the less deceptively tall and well proportioned. The keen amber eyes within his hawkish face are framed by an intensity of mien that some could find unsettling. Strong, high, cheek bones are accented by the absence of any excess flesh in his features which creates a contrast that lends severity to his appearance. His complexion is a pale alabaster that speaks of long hours spent outside of direct sun. Long and slightly curled dark hair is arranged in  flowingly coifed and secured locks to the sides and rear in the Assabian ( Persian ) style popular in Djesmir. However on either side of his brow is a single long, thin, braid serving to keep his hair clear of his face.

The braids are adorned, seemingly at random, with a small collection of bronze runic charms. His strong chin is enveloped in a full beard showing more of the man's dark hair yet traced through with wisps of lighter color in the way beards tend to be. The beard has a well kept appearance being trimmed, oiled, and groomed in a very 'civilized' fashion. The mustache and center of the beard on and below his chin however, while kept with similar care, have been allowed to grow and almost reach the man's chest while being kept in a tight Egyptian style braid. Again the  Assabian influence is evident, with the beard and the addition of another small collection of bronze charms dangling from the beard itself and the fastenings that keep it bound. The man's ears are lost in the flowing black hair.

The cut, fit, and decoration of his clothing is all plainly  Assabian. Atop his head is a rounded, cylindrical, hat of rich blue with golden scrollwork embroidery. A quartet of delicate miniature metallic peacock feathers adorn the brim, arching back over his head in decoration. He is dressed in a matching deep blue and embroidered robe the close fit of which accents his lean form. In the Assabian style the robe is completely closed in the front, a solid garment. The waist is cinched tightly by a bright red and gold belt of roughly a hands breadth thickness around his midsection, making the fit even closer than perhaps it might be otherwise.

Over this, usually open, a long collarless coat of a thicker more sturdy material is worn. The coat is black with blue and gold embroidery, accenting the decoration of the underlying robe. On the back of the coat, in a deeper and more detailed embroidery, is a trigram of the symbols of  Evasa, Yarnos, and Belthek which is a common symbol of Summoners in Assabia. In the center of the trigram, as is customary, is placed the individual sigil of the Sorcerer in question. A medallion bearing the same set of symbols is worn in plain evidence. The robe is of a length that reaches only to his upper thighs, while the coat reaches to near his ankles. In keeping with the style of such garments both have long sleeves down to the wrist, the blue of the robe showing at the cuff of the coat. Flush with the sleeves are the matching black leather gloves covering his hands, embroidered with the same golden  scrollwork curling about the palms and knuckles of the hands.

At his waist, all secured from a set of bronze loops attached to the lower bounds of his belt, on the right side is a collection of several pouches. The pouches are of different colors, materials, and sizes. Above that, against the surface of the belt, is strapped a typical set of traveler's eating knife and fork. Tucked into the upper band of the belt above that is a rather utilitarian looking dagger. On the right hangs a similarly worn and utilitarian seeming scimitar, fastened to a set of larger bronze loops there. Below the waist he is covered by a set of unadorned yet quality and brightly white leggings. The leggings are baggy and flowing in the Assabian style, flaring out away from his legs. The bottom cuffs of the leggings draw back down to be tight at the ankle, and are tucked tightly into a pair of dark black boots, of a hue to match his coat.

Slung across the man's back is moderate sized brown leather pack strapped tightly closed and bearing a look of being well worn with travel, and perhaps adventure. On the side of the pack is an equally worn quiver and leather casement of a nondescript shortbow.

The entire ensemble is often covered by a large dark blue travelling cloak hanging down to near the man's ankles. The cloak is thick and of a good cut, yet unadorned save for the plain bronze brooch which holds it in place. In hand the man usually bears a large dark colored wooden staff, bound and reinforced along its length with bronze fittings in several places. The staff has a look of long wear and use as both a walking implement and perhaps as a weapon.
