A woman of the Engel tribe of the North, Geirfinna is tall and strong. She stands eye-to-eye with most men of average height, which was uncommon even within the Engel. Her dark hair flows in natural waves, but is unruly and seldom controlled or combed. Oftentimes it is kept up or pulled back to keep it from getting in her bright, jade eyes. Her skin is a milky white, the color of northern people's, and her muscled frame is hidden with a body with a grown woman's curves. Her bosom is ample and her hips wide, for the birthing of children. Her waist is thin, accentuating the flare of her hips and the thickness of her thighs. Since her travels began, however, her skin appears slightly darker and tanned while her attire has fallen to a cloak and straps of leather that hang around her hips like a long loin cloth and a top made out of more straps and a cord that ties behind her neck and around her back.

When Geirfinna becomes enraged, she grows by at least a foot and her skin turns the color of jade. Her muscles swell, as does the rest of her body, and her dark hair contains a verdant tinge that is unmistakable. This green monster, or Hulddis, is immensely strong, and becomes even stronger when fueled by a bottomless, unending rage that burns within her.
